About this sitter
I am retired and worked for HMRC for 30 years. My partner Mark is a semi retired builder and can repair or fix most things after 40 years in the family business.. We are looking forward to looking after somebody's home and pets but also having free time to explore the local area and learn the language.
Why they want to house sit
We would love to house sit as we like to travel and live in various places so we can explore and mix with local communities. We own a motor home and have travelled extensively over the UK. We spent 3 months house sitting in France in 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It was fantastic to learn another country’s culture.
Their experience
I have always had Rescue Cats and feel that a house without a cat isn't a home. Mark had a parsons terrier until Two years ago until he passed away (the dog). We haven't got another dog as we wish to travel and this would restrict us.. We love wild life and do what we can with our garden in the city to make it a safer haven for hedgehogs, frogs, birds, bees and butterflies...
What can they bring to the assignment
You can rest assured that your animals will be loved and cared for... your house will be maintained and should any house problem arise Mark will be able to deal with it due to the nature of his profession. We are reliable,clean, organised trustworthy and flexible with dates. We have our own transport and bikes so are very independent whilst caring for your home.

Great and Reliable House sitter
Gill (together with her partner, Mark) looked after our place and animals for a couple of weeks in February. In the run up to the house sit, the communication was great, and all the arrangements were clear. This was our first time having a house sitter and our property and grounds are fairly big, so we were quite nervous at this point, but we needn't have worried. They arrived on time, and spent the fortnight looking after our labradoodle, 3 cats, and a chicken. There were no problems whatsoever, and Gill sent us some pics of the animals whilst we were away. They must have had quite a challenging time, because unfortunately the weather was horrific the whole time, and getting out with the dog - whenever he wanted it - was very wet! We returned home to a tidy and clean, well looked after property and some happy animals. We would recommend both Gill and Mark as great house sitters.

Highly Recommend
This was the second time that Gill and Mark kept our cat and home while we took a multi-month trip. They took excellent care of both. Gill and Mark were great communicators and informed us of what was happening with our pet and mail. We have a large yard and vegetable garden. Both were in great shape upon our return. It is a good feeling knowing that we can be away for a long period without worrying about what is happening back home. We returned to a happy cat and a well-kept house. We recommend them wholeheartedly as sitters.

Excellent sitters
This was the second time that Gill and Mark took care of our cat, home and garden. This trip we were away for over two months. We were able to leave without any worries because they are excellent communicators and care givers. Our cat was very happy and the house and garden were in great shape when we returned. They did everything we asked and then some. Gill notified us when any mail that arrived and sent us scans when we requested. They also gave us regular updates about our cat. Mark kept the yard looking great and took excellent care of our vegetable garden. We would recommend them enthusiastically.

Your pets are in safe hands!
Gill and Mark are a delight to meet, we left our pets with them for a week in September 2022. My particularly large group of pets are all seniors and needed special attention and medication. Gill and Mark weren't phased by this and did a super job of looking after them. They also sent me regular updates and photos as to how they all were doing. They looked after the house very respectfully, it was tidy and clean when we returned, Mark also did a few odd jobs and they both without being asked even mowed the lawn! I have remained in touch with these folks not just as sitters but now as friends too. I would 100% recommend them as house sitters!

Gill and Mark
Gill and Mark were great with our four rescue dogs who all have different personalities. The dogs were at ease with them immediately and they kept them to their routine. They took them long walks and were very relaxed about letting them off lead too which was important. We were very comfortable leaving our four precious doggies with them and have already booked them again for another sit. Would definitely recommend them as were very easy company too.

Reliable sitters, both friendly and great at communication
We had an excellent experience when Gill and Mark minded our cat, home and garden for three months this past summer and autumn. They were very friendly and were really great at communication, keeping us informed through messages and photos of what was happening at home. They did everything we asked and left our home exactly as we left it. Mark and Gill efficiently handled the one problem that arose with our heating system during our absence. They quickly consulted with us and then took care of the necessary followup with our preferred repair person. Most important for us, our pet clearly showed that she had been well-tended during our absence. She is a rescue cat that does not always handle transitions well, but when we returned it was as if we had never been away. She was clearly content and had been well cared for. This was our third time of using MyMyHouse for extended absences and we are happy to say that we were 100% satisfied with having Gill and Mark as our house sitters.
