About this sitter
We’re Patrick and Caroline, a couple in our early forties from Canada looking to take some time away from our daily routine and home life for a few weeks or months. We like quiet places and remote places but are opened to an experience in a city.
Patrick is manually skillful. We built our house a few years ago. Patrick also has knowledge in various domains such as mechanics and electricity. He works for the largest hydroelectricity company in Canada and his job consists of maintaining and constructing hydroelectric turbines.
Caroline is an authentic, easy-going and caring person. She loves trail running and new experiences. For now, she is working as a research associate in the field of public nutrition and is a registered dietician. or She like opportunities that allow her to connect more directly with people.
We make a great team—whether it’s for work, play, or adventure. Recently, we became parents of a wonderful 7-month-old girl, who already shows signs of being an adventurer at heart.
Why they want to house sit
We tend to avoid overly touristy areas, preferring to discover lesser-known places and enjoy a more authentic, local experience. We're active and enjoy staying busy, whether it's with outdoor tasks or caring for animals. Housesitting through MindMyHouse offers us the perfect opportunity to do just that. For us, it’s also a wonderful way to get an intimate introduction to a new town or country.
Their experience
In 2015, we spent a year traveling and had the opportunity to house-sit in Saskatchewan (Canada), France, and Costa Rica through MindMyHouse, caring for horses and dogs. In 2020, we returned to housesitting in France, where we looked after cats, dogs, horses, and chickens. Each experience was incredibly rewarding. We’d be happy to provide references upon request. We also spent time working on a semi self-sufficient family farm in Chile, where we cared for a variety of farm animals and took part in a wide range of hands-on tasks.

Caroline and Patrick
Caroline and Patrick were the most wonderful house sitters that we could possible have had . They looked after the animals and the house perfectly .They dealt with an emergency regarding one of our cats brilliantly. Our dog absolutely adored them and as far as we could tell the horses and the chickens were equally happy The couple were charming and helped us hugely. Patrick did some wonderful work in our house and also collected us and delivered us to the airport.

The best house sitters!!
Caroline and Patrick house sat for us for 3 months in Costa Rica a couple of years ago and they were superb in every way. They took care of our house and garden doing an excellent job. They were very resourceful and handled any problems with a good amount of calm and skill. We could depend on them 100% and always felt at ease and comfortable knowing they were here for us. Reliable, mature and friendly are other characteristics that they exemplify. We don't have pets but are sure Caroline and Patrick would have been very responsible and caring that area as well. All the neighbors became very fond of them. Any house owner will be fortunate to have these two young wonderful people caring for their house and property. In our book they got a grade of A++.

Delightful
Caroline and Patrick will remain outstanding in my memory as thoughtful, responsible people who pride themselves in a job well done. They cared for our three cats, one dog and six horses for two weeks. They are salt-of-the-earth people who’s services I would re-engage in a heartbeat.
