I am a retired university professor and Theresa is a retired school teacher, and so we have the flexibility to spend time in other parts of the country or world. We are primarily interested in house sitting outside the US but could consider a domestic opportunity as well. .

Why they want to house sit

First, of course, it's a great deal - we love being able to go stay for awhile in some place we've never been, without having to pay a whole lot for lodging! It's also nice to be able to spend time in cities, towns, and neighborhoods that we probably wouldn't ever visit if it weren't for the house sitting opportunity. Since much of my time is spent reading and writing, I also appreciate the fact that house sitting allows me to do that in a "home" environment where I can stay largely undisturbed by the outside world if I so choose.

Their experience

My wife and I house sat for a couple in Brazil for six weeks in 2019, watching over their property and taking care of their five dogs. Then by myself I house sat for a couple in Costa Rica, who needed someone there for a few weeks to make the property available to a realtor who was showing it to potential buyers. A few years ago we house sat for a couple in a nearby town, looking after their two dogs while they were in Europe for a couple weeks, as well as for another family looking after their cat while they were away. Last year, we housesat for a woman in Texas who need her dog and cat taken care of for three weeks while she was away. Finally, we housesat two times in the last two years for a couple in northeast Arizona, looking after their two dogs and six chickens.

What can they bring to the assignment

My wife and I are both quiet, clean, respectful, and responsible -- we will certainly treat your home with the same care and concern as we would our own. We love dogs and cats and are happy to watch over them, always mindful and attentive in looking after their well-being.
