About this sitter
We are an Irish professional couple (carpentry teacher, health care dietitian) from rural Ireland, animal lovers, energetic and passionate about the preciousness of life but our work lives while fulfilling are demanding. Our love of travel, the outdoors, new cultures and experiences refuels our batteries and love of life. We are open to housesits anywhere, in cities or in the country, in remote or urban areas. We have been blessed to travel the world for weeks and months at a time, 13mths in 2007. Currently available for weekend and short sits in Ireland and home/abroad during our holiday periods (christmas, new year, summer vacation). Happy to explore all house sit offers (caring for your home, plant and pet care needs). We are fit & active, practical, capable, motivated and doers. We speak fluent english and are learning spanish.

With Michael recently retired housesitting offers us the chance to further our love of travel and new experiences in an affordable way and experience people, friendships and cultures that might not be possible otherwise.

Yes. Our experience includes long term house rental, airbnb, many times we have looked after the homes of family and friends, caring for children, plants and animals. Being home owners we respect the importance of your home and privacy to you. We have bought and renovated our own home and are experienced.in maintenance. Regarding animals Michael grew up on a farm and I spent.my childhood summers on my grandparents/uncle farm with cows,sheep,hens,cats & dogs. Our cat Ginger of 16years passed away in 2018. Michael is an avid gardener.

Experience in caring for homes, animals and plants & trees. Self sufficient attitude whilst respectful and dedicated to your needs. Will treat your home, pets and animals as if our own. Non smokers. Police clearance for both. Full driving licences - can drop/collect. Open to exploring other possible tasks while you are away (negotiating fees possible) such as having car serviced, visiting/shopping for family, maintenance tasks, organisational projects.

Rural Retreat
Karen was is a fantastic house and pet sitter. She took time to visit us and meet Teddy and the hens and rabbits before the housesit started. She was great at communicating before during and after the housesit. Sent me photos of Teddy and a video of the hens doing their thing. The house was spotless on our return and even left us some of her home baking to try. I definitely recommend Karen for future house and animal sitting.

Fantastic, trustworthy housesitters
Karen and Mick housesitted our cottage for 2 weeks while we were on holiday and they were the perfect house guests. They were so kind to our pets and the dogs were in fantastic shape when we returned as they were treated to long walks every day. They communicated with us throughout the holiday and were incredibly detail-orientated while looking after the house. It gave us peace of mind that the cottage was in good hands, and it was. The cottage looked better when we came back than it did when we left! They were so conscientious and we really appreciated how well they took care of our home. I would highly recommend Karen and Mick as houseitters.
