About this sitter
We are recently retired after 35 years in U.S. public education and 2 years of international teaching in Ukraine. We are an active, healthy couple. Pets have always been a part of our lives. We have had at least one cat or dog in our house in the 36 years we've been married, and when our children were growing up, we had our share of guinea pigs, fish, turtles, chickens, and ducks. We even raised a few quail when our Irish Setter was learning to hunt! Although we've never owned larger animals such as horses or goats, we are confident that we are up to the challenge. We adapt easily to almost any environment, but we would prefer to house sit in a rural or suburban area.

House-sitting is a way for us to combine all of our interests: animals, travel, and new adventures.
Their experience
Yes. Although we have not been "official" house-sitters for other people, we have lived in several locations (West Virginia, Pennsylvania, South Carolina) and have owned four different homes over the years. We have experience taking care of the inside and outside of a house, including lawns, gardens, and of course, pets. We like to keep things neat and clean, and in working order.
What can they bring to the assignment
First and foremost, we will provide the love and care your animals need and want. We will treat your home as if it were our own. We are responsible and conscientious. If you would like to receive updates while you are away, we are willing to keep the lines of communication open with you.

The perfect house sitters
We knew from meeting Jay and Katrina that they would be the perfect fit for our 2 dogs. They came a night early to our house and our dogs loved them immediately. They administered a medication for one of our dogs and even let them sleep in the bed at night! We know our pups had great care and they even sent us updates every couple days per request. They left our house cleaner than it was when we left! Jay and Katrina seem like the type of couple we would hangout with on a regular basis!! We will always ask them first when looking for a dog sitter in the future. Highly recommend!!!
