About this sitter
I’m a very healthy, active and fit 53 year old Canadian, on sabbatical from 15 yrs as a full-time library employee, financially independent, and will be traveling solo. A longtime mindful meditator, I believe that my calmness, independence, conscientious and optimism are assets while maintaining a home and caring for four-legged family in the owner’s absence. I have strong and relevant reference letters to forward when requested.

Their experience
Yes, very! Among recent long-term house sitting gigs included: caring for a highly automated home, requiring frequent long distance contact with the owners, their neighbor and their local contractors. For example, during my 3 1/2 month stay (reference letter available), we had multiple power outages, requiring sprinkler system,
alarm, lighting and water tank maintenance or resets, all communicated - one of my strong suits! - to the owners via email and text and photos taken. As well, I passed on requested information from their mail.
Recently, keeping a teenage dog and a diabetic cat engaged and healthy, required patience and a balance of flexibility and routine..!
What can they bring to the assignment
I am very reliable, respectful and conscientious, having
worked for more than 15 years for the public library system as a full-time senior staffer. Letters are available from my direct work supervisor as well as from my landlady of a dozen years. Of note, I’ve been staying in Airbnb residences on 3 continents for the last few years and my impeccable feedback rating attests to many things that make me, I hope, a worthy candidate. An animal lover, I have cared recently for the breeding female whippet of a successful dog show competitor, as well as dog sitting while minding a work supervisor’s house. A recent assignment was unusual and wonderful: providing sugared water for hundreds of hummingbirds that vistied the home-owners' property..!

Ramsey looked after my home and my quirky, shy cat. He was VERY considerate and conscientious. Great at keeping in contact while I was traveling and providing updates/assurances that all was well on the home front. He was also super friendly and trustworthy, and left everything clean and in good order upon his departure. In many small ways he went the extra mile (it was clear that he has lots of experience caring for people's homes and pets, and he has a keen awareness for what's important to make the host/homeowner comfortable and happy). Do not miss this train!
We count Ramsey among our friends, although the ones that live abroad. When we contacted Ramsey 2-3 months before our one-month summer holidays, we wouldn’t imagine how extrordinary our engagment through our cats was going to be. As a Canadian travelling in Spain for months he was interested in visiting Valencia and we where looking for someone to stay in a full month, so to start with our crossed interests matched perfectly. But all this was secondary of behalf of our true love: our kittens. We ask him for an appointment through a videocall to introduced each other and from this moment, well advance his arrival, we kept in kind contact. We also ask him for showing up a day before our departure to make sure we all had enough time to explain and make questions… there is a lot to happening in a full month abroad. The full month past smooth for the kittens and Ramsey. We were kept updated and entertained with messages, pictures and videos. Our only regret during his sitting is that with an out of the blue hot summer, enchainging scorching heatwaves across all Europe, for some days his stay must have been utterly discomforting and true challenging in order to make sure they three were ok (shade, temperature, hydration). But somehow Ramsey manage not only to provide with loving care but also to fully engage with Kaleo and Rufus and their different personalities. Ramsey is an educated (he is able to speak English, French, Catalán and his Spanish is well on the way..) sport and health oriented man in their fifties, with soft manners, full of experiences, interesting conversation, sensible and uttermost caring. We totally share with him his wonder about this life and travels, his love for nature, wild species, enriching friendship, and meaninful conversations. He is tidy, responsible, environmental minded, caring, and generous. Absolutely trust-worthy to put in his hads, home and your furry or feathered friends. We could not recommend him more energetically.

Super Enthusiastic Guy. Don't miss him!!
Even Ramsey's reply to our post was so enthusiastic that we contacted him immediately. What a great choice! We were looking for a kind and caring person to look after our 16 year old, diabetic cat and our 10 month old, very energetic Belgian Shepherd pup. Ramsey arrived shortly ahead of our departure to become accustomed to our home and the requirements of our two furry boys. We left full of confidence that Ramsey was going to be very conscientious. We communicated by WhatsApp on a couple of occasions but it was clear that everything was under control. We arrived home to two obviously well cared for pets and a spotlessly clean house. We were more than happy to offer Ramsey a few extra days to enjoy his cycling as it was a pleasure to get to know him even more. We sincerely hope that he'll come again and can wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone wishing to leave their home and pets and be worry free.
