About this sitter

I’m originally from the US, although I’ve spent much of my life living and working around the world — from Europe and Southeast Asia to Fiji, Hawaii and Mexico. Travel has been part of my life for so long that I’m happiest when I can settle into a place for a while, get to know the rhythm of everyday life, and feel a little less like a visitor.

I’m an artist and textile/surface designer by nature, with a long background in property management, hospitality, gardens and beautiful homes. I co-founded and developed an oceanfront botanical garden in Fiji, have managed properties and estates, and have spent years caring for other people’s homes while they travel.

And then there are the animals. I genuinely love them. Over the years I’ve cared for dogs and cats of every age and personality, as well as chickens, donkeys, birds, fish, rabbits and other assorted creatures. I’m comfortable with senior pets, medications and animals that need a little more patience or understanding.

I’m also very good with plants. Indoor jungle, vegetable garden, flower beds or a rather ambitious garden that needs watering while you’re away — all quite happily within my territory.

Why they want to house sit

For me, house sitting is a much nicer way to experience the world.

I prefer living in a real home, getting to know a neighborhood, walking the dog, tending the garden and having somewhere peaceful to return to at the end of the day. After years of both hosting people in my own homes and caring for other people’s, I understand the trust involved from both sides.

Some of my loveliest friendships have begun through house sitting, and I’ve been fortunate to be invited back by homeowners more than once. That means a great deal to me.

Their experience

I’ve been house and pet sitting internationally for many years, in everything from city apartments and cottages to larger country properties and estates.

Along the way I’ve cared for young energetic dogs, senior animals, cats with medication routines, gardens, chickens and other animals. I’ve also dealt with the ordinary things that happen when homeowners are away — coordinating with cleaners or tradespeople, keeping an eye on a property, solving small problems and knowing when something actually warrants a call.

My professional background in property and estate management means I notice things. If something doesn’t look or sound quite right, I tend to catch it.

But most days are much simpler: feed everyone, walk the dogs, water the plants, keep the house lovely and enjoy the company.

What can they bring to the assignment

Peace of mind, above all.

I’m mature, independent and capable, and I don’t need a homeowner to manage me from afar. I’ll communicate as much or as little as you prefer, send updates and photos, and contact you if something genuinely needs your attention.

I treat someone’s home as exactly that — their home, not temporary accommodation. I keep things clean and cared for, respect privacy and routines, and leave a light footprint.

Your animals will receive plenty of affection, conversation and attention. Your plants will be in very safe hands. And when you come home, my goal is wonderfully simple:
