About this sitter
My name is Paula. I am from Rio de Janeiro/Brazil, living in Portimão Portugal. Married to Art, from San Diego - CA - USA. I am an Office Manager/HR consultant. Art is retired from the insurance world, soccer, tennis and beach tennis referee and assessor. We are looking for experiences to live as local people and get to know new places and people.
Why they want to house sit
It is a chance to live like a local. Learn how people live. Take care of animals and plants. I love animals but, I can't have pets right now. I miss them a lot. We love sailing, beach tennis, music, travelling and cooking.
Their experience
Yes. We have a few sitting experienced with great reviews. We travel as much as possible. We understand pets are always the priority on the assignments. Professionally, I owned a horse show jumping facility. Art is very knowledgeable of gardening, specially citrus trees. We were crew on a sailing boat trip on the coast of Brazil for 5 weeks.
What can they bring to the assignment
Reliable, mature, quiete, sleep early mostly. No smoking or parties.
I had my own stables. I am used to taking care of dogs, cats, birds, and horses. When not traveling, we clean the house, take care of the garden and do small maintenance ourselves. Art worked as an electrician in the film industry bach then.
We are not party people. We don't smoke at all. Moderated alcohol drinking, mainly good wine.
Financially stable, we can fund the trips to the properties.
Although not young anymore, we are very fit. Art as a soccer referee still runs after 15-year-old kids. I still play beach tennis, ride a horse, sail and ride my bike as transportation method. I practice Yoga every day.
We speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, German and some French.
I keep things extremely clean and organized at all times.

If you would like to have a peaceful time away from home
Paula and Art were our house sitters for almost 2 weeks - and soon after their arrival it was clear: they would manage their task so well that we could go on holiday in peace. They were both very knowledgeable about gardening, trees and their water needs, and above all animals....they had experience and we noticed that immediately. Art gave us several good tips on raising orange trees and Paula proved to be a good observer of the animals. We spent two evenings having many interesting conversations and it was enriching to get to know them and their story. They were also very flexible and it was no problem that we wanted to return a day earlier than planned (because of the weather). We can only recommend them as housesitters! Thank you Paula and Art for taking such good care of our animals, garden and trees and we hope to see you again soon in Portugal!

SUPER SITTING
Paula and her partner were fantastic people and looked after our home and two cats perfectly for the 4 weeks we were away. They are highly capable and trustworthy and left our home immaculately clean and tidy. Our cats benefitted from the good care and attention they received. We have no hesitation in recommending them.

Great experience!
Paula and her husband Art spend 9 days pet-sitting my cat and, although I only met them via Zoom, I would welcome them back any time. They asked appropriate questions in a timely fashion and left my home just as they found it. Art even managed to re-channel my TV when some changed while I was away. The only downside: My cat didn't even seem to miss me! ;-)
