Mature world traveler and cat lover available for southern California in May

About this sitter

Hello! I am a single woman who loves to travel the world AND furry babies of the feline persuasion (although I also like bunnies). I have not been active on this site for the last few years due to other commitments, but will be starting again this year. I am currently living in France and am travelling in SoCal in May 2025. I will be available for a couple of weeks anywhere in the area between Sacramento and Palm Springs.

My background includes an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, work as a Human Resources Manager on cruise ships and self-employment. I am very responsible, clean, smoke, drug and alcohol-free. I have a valid driver's license from Canada and have spent quite a bit of time in the United States.

Why they want to house sit

I have been blessed to have lived in over a dozen countries and travelled in many more. I find meeting new people and visiting fresh locales invigorating and interesting. Feline company would be an added bonus!

Their experience

My love affair with cats began when I was 20 and found a half-Siamese 4-week old kitten who had been abandoned by his mother. We adopted him and named him Ramsey. Later, he was joined by Rudy, a sweet marmalade cat with a red nose, who just showed up one day and joined the family. Some years after that, I was a mom to 2 male cats who were black and white brothers from the same litter (Mozart & Columbus), whom I adopted when they were 6 weeks old. They were both loving, affectionate and playful. Mozart lived to the ripe old age of 19 (Columbus unfortunately only made it to 14); they are both still missed.

What can they bring to the assignment

I am very trustworthy and dependable, as well as flexible. Because of my many years of travel I am very adaptable to various homes and their routines. I have completed 3 assignments with MindMyHouse and have references showing I have done a great job.

I have owned two homes in the past, so I am familiar with the things that need to be taken care of in a house and garden, such as mowing the lawn, weeding, watering the garden and hedge trimming.
