About this sitter
We are caring, dependable and experienced pet sitters. Since 2008, we have cared for all sorts of animals in 33 different locations. We love to immerse ourselves in new environments and experience local life. Home owners have provided many kind testimonials about us. Our home is near Baltimore, Maryland, USA. We are non-smokers.
Terry worked part-time at a petting farm helping youngsters get to know animals. She is also a retired substitute teacher with a Master’s degree in Special Education. She enjoys music, singing, reading, traveling and socializing.
Fred is a retired engineering risk manager. He enjoys nature, hiking, gardening, traveling and meeting people from other cultures. He speaks French, Spanish and German.
Why they want to house sit
Taking care of your pets will probably be as much fun for us as for them! We enjoy meeting locals and experiencing everyday life and events in communities which are new to us. It is also fun to just relax in our temporary home. We always manage to find wonderful things to see and experience wherever we go.
Their experience
During our pet sitting assignments within the USA and around the world, we have taken care of the various animals listed in the Pet section below. In October 2009 we house sat in a remote village in Portugal, taking care of dogs, cats and a parrot. In the winter of 2014, in Pennsylvania, in addition to house pets we took care of goats for the first time. Later that year, we cared for 3 pigs, 35 chickens, 3 ducks, a dog, 2 cats, a hamster and some gold fish in the French Alps.
What can they bring to the assignment
We are a fit, trustworthy and respectful retired couple. We have never smoked. We enjoy pets. Minor chores pose no problem at all. We cope with situations as they arise, like replacing an internet router that fried during an electrical storm. We are very conscientious about following the owners’ specific instructions regarding the care of their pets and home. Home owners have been pleased to find everything clean and neat upon their return. Over the years, we have received many kind testimonials from them (some are attached below).

Rural Retreat Ireland
Fred and Terry arrived the day before we left home, which was a great idea as they got alot of time to see routine with Teddy and the hens. They also stayed on an extra night and we really appreciated it as our flight was delayed so we didn't get home until after midnight. I highly recommend Fred and Terry they slotted right into our home with our animals. Terry managed Teddy's special new food regime easily and Fred kindly removed the leaves from the gutter, through his own initiative. We had 3, 2 week old and 6 2 day old chicks added to our brood and it was no problem for Fred and Terry to manage them. They were great at keeping in touch with us over the week with any happenings at home. They met a few neighbours on their daily outings with Teddy. It was so lovely having them with us, it felt like having an Uncle and Aunt visiting from USA. We got on so well with plenty to chat about. We highly recommend you choose them for your next petsitting requirement. 😊😊😊

Caring animal and bird lovers
Fred and Terri were great house sitters and I would definitely have them back if they choose to come. Took great care of the house and our rescue dog Blue. Fred noticed the slow drain in the hall bathroom tub and fixed it.

Outstanding
It was such a pleasure to house Fred and Terry in my home! They were neat, clean, attentive to details, great with the pets, and lovely people. While I was away, I had complete confidence that my house and my pets were well taken care of. They sent text message updates and photos to let me know what they were up to and that I was missed! They truly give housesitting a great name and would welcome them back any time!

Great reliable sitters!
Fred and Terry were great. A warm couple, they took time to meet us prior to the sit and for us to get to know each other. Our pets and home were well cared for. We'd recommend hiring them.

Wonderful couple we wish we could have spent more time with!
Fred and Terry spent 11 days with our Chihuahua while we were away. Not only did they take care of our "Randy" with loving care, they took great care of our house as well. They were wonderful, and we wish that they lived close by, because they would definitely be our good friends! It was a pleasure having Fred and Terry at our home.

A lovely couple!
From the first moment we started communicating, I knew that Fred and Terry were a super lovely couple. They arrived a day before we left for our vacation so that they could learn our dogs routine and get to the know our home and the area. They sent us pictures of Cody during our trip and were in constant contact. Cody was well taken care of as well as our home and plants. I recommend them highly! We feel like we became friends and I hope to keep in touch with them.

Two Lovely People to House and Dog Sit!

Wonderful House Sitters

Dream Team Terry and Fred take on Pack of Five!
We were so thrilled to have Fred and Terry Beckmann mind our home and five pack of big dogs for a week while we went to a wedding out-of-state. . I am a dog trainer and I was unsure at first if I could just turn my well-trained dogs over to anyone. Fred and Terry rose to the occasion and were able to handle our dog pack like champions. They followed our instructions and were reliable in every way. On a personal note, we got along with them like close friends--they are delightful people and easy to talk with, kind and trustworthy. Fred and Terry arrived a couple of days before we departed so we spent that time together to get to know each other and the dogs and plan our respective weeks. We enjoyed getting to know Fred and Terry--we were lucky to have them take care of our precious pets and home! We hope they will come back again!:)

Caring and Reliable Retired Couple
Fred and Terry took beautiful care of our two large dogs and home for two rainy weeks! They came a day early so we could get to know each other, reassure the pets, and see how put together our days. We corresponded while away and returned to enjoy the best dinner of our vacation Terry had prepared. They are both generous with their time, energy and selves, down to earth, thoughtful, caring and do a wonderful job stepping into your shoes while you are away. When a problem arises, in our case a dog/skunk entanglement, they figure it out! The dogs and we knew as soon as we met, that all would be fine. Fred and Terry are truly a treasure!

Excellence!
Fred and Terry house sat for us and and took excellent care of our dog Lucy and our two cats Molly and Daisy. Our house was also well cared for and beautifully clean and tidy when we got back. Absolutely Wonderful!
Fred and Terry house sat for us for two weeks in April 2017. I cannot begin to express how wonderful they were! Friendly, conscientious, trustworthy; these are just a few of the descriptors that come to mind. They provided excellent care to our poodle and our cat. They sent us regular updates on how the pets were doing. They took care of my greenhouse and it's plants. And they left the house spotless. They are a fantastic couple, and I hope our paths cross again in the future. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

Great people, great sitters
Terry and Fred were absolutely wonderful when they stayed at our home in Aptos, California and watched our two dogs and our home while we were in France. They kept us updated and were even able to help us get papers we had left at home that we needed for our travels. We are so grateful to them. We would ask them again in a heartbeat.

Definitely dependable
It is hard to believe that it is four years since Terry and Fred minded our house in Madeira. Complaints? Only one! They have been so busy we haven't been able to get them back again. Really good and dependable couple.
