About this sitter
After sailing around the world for 9 years on our little sailing boat, Warren (65) and Maria (62) are back in the Netherlands since 2016 and both working in a seasonal job in tourism. This gives us the opportunity to take some time off from work in November, December, January and/or February.
Why they want to house sit
We explored the globe, but are very eager to see more of Europe. Once a voyager always a voyager.
During our sailing adventure we stayed for longer periods at one place. That’s the only way to get to know the animals (!), the locals and surroundings, to get in touch for real with people.
Their experience
We’ve done several house-sits as you can read in our testimonials we received from the house owners. Dogs, cats, chickens, we had always lots of fun with the animals we took care of. Knowing how precious our own house is, we will be very careful with your home and belongings. Living on a boat for so long learnt us to be extremely cautious using water and electricity, and appreciate the most simple things of life.
What can they bring to the assignment
We both like animals of all sorts, did have cats and dogs ourselves long time ago. We like gardening and don’t mind living in rural or remote places for a while, since we are used to being “isolated” from the world while being at sea and sailing in deserted parts of the world. Our first house-sit was in the south of Spain in a house off-grid, no problem at all!
We are a good team in doing all kinds of jobs, Warren is extremely handy with 2 right hands. We don’t see problems, we see solutions!

Warren and Maria looked after our house, cats and garden beautifully. They enjoyed their stay and made the most of what the local area and region have to offer. Animal /house sit in France
I can highly recommend Warren and Marie, they have just finished a 2 week sit for me. My animals (2 dogs, 1 large, 1 small and a cat) were so well cared for i could not have wished for better sitters. my house was clean a tidy on my return plus a lovely evening meal cooked. if you get the chance to have Warren and Maria look after your house and animals i can guarantee you and your pets will be very happy.

Relaxed kindhearted dog lovers :-)
Warren and Maria came to sit for us for a littler over two weeks in February / March 2022. With a huge house and terrain inhabited by not just us humans but also 5 dogs and 7 cats, Warren & Maria had quite a task ahead of them :-)) Contact before the house sit was easy and reassuring, we texted, mailed and video chatted up front to make sure we all felt comfortable with the assignment and just to get to know each other a little bit. They told us they had never taken care of so many animals at the same time but were looking forward to the challenge :-) They arrived a day early for a seamless handover and from the start, both felt more like friends than strangers. They were respectful and lively, and full of interesting stories from their world-traveling life. During our time away we received regular updates and pictures and felt like we could fully enjoy our vacation knowing that our property and our animals were in such excellent hands. They formed an especially friendly bond with our dogs and the love between humans & animals was mutual! Upon our return we ran into some car trouble and they jumped into a car in the middle of the night with the intention to pick us up at an airport some 250 km away …. Luckily, the car could be fixed so it wasn’t necessary for them to come all the way but it just proves what generous and kindhearted spirits Warren & Maria are! During our absence Warren fixed odds and ends around the house and yard and we came back to a super neat place! We were very very grateful for having found such impeccable sitters and can only recommend them to everyone. Hopefully, they’ll be back for another sit! 10out of 10 stars for W & M!

Perfect in every way!
Warren & Maria are an amazing couple - our short and enjoyable time together at the start and end of our housesit left us wishing we lived closer as we would certainly become good friends. Maria is warm, affectionate and caring and Warren is engaging, amusing and a great problemsolver! As house sitters and cat sitters they exceeded all of our expectations. We did not expect them to spend their time doing jobs for us - especially given the cold weather. We were just so happy to know they were loving and spoiling our 2 cats, Rosie and Bobbie (cat flap training thrown in for good measure!). We were overwhelmed by the transformation to our workshop, delighted to come home to 2 months of cut and stacked wood and chuffed to have a couple of our annoying electrical issues sorted. If Maria & Warren show an interest in looking after your home and pets, don't hesitate. They are reliable, dependable and trustworthy - perfect in every way!

Absolutely brilliant, practical house sitters.
Warren and Maria housesat our off grid farm for a month over the winter and were absolutely amazing. They are nice people and must be workaholics! It seems like they didn’t come to have a holiday...but did so many jobs around the place, it was far better on our return than when we left. They did take time off to explore and enjoy the area, but Warren is very practical and sorted out plenty of little things we hadn’t had time to fix ..those 101 jobs we had on a list! They worked hard and stayed in contact, asked questions when needing guidance, but generally got on with it. And they cleaned thoroughly and left it spotless. Welcome back any time and Highly recommended.
