About this sitter

My husband Scott and I love to explore new places and prefer staying at least a week in one place and welcome longer stays. Part of the charm is becoming connected to the neighborhood if only in a limited way. We love animals and having recently lost our two beloved Mexican rescues are thrilled to have pet time.

Why they want to house sit

We want to see more of the world and not as tourists. We enjoy staying a bit busy and having animals around to care for

Their experience

We have done many home exchanges and have had several sitting experiences as well, most with pets involved. We ran a hotel on lake Attitlan in Guatemala 6 months a year for three years in a row. It included pet care and a great deal of trouble shooting as well as managing all aspects of the hotel including the restaurant.

What can they bring to the assignment

We have been home owners for 40+ years. Our first homes (2) were in rural New England so we're used to country living, weather, generators, power failures, and other situations that might arise in such an environment. Our second home (for the last 17 yrs) was in the small Mexican town of Bacalar. Living in a country foreign to us has given us an understanding of how to manage
and survive gracefully in a new, to us, culture. We took great pleasure in getting to know our community and in learning how to be respectful and accepted. In between new England and Mexico we lived in the Seattle area so garnered some city skills and appreciation for city life. We moved back to in New England for two years but have just relocated in the Vancouver area to be near family. We are always ready for some adventures and places. Btw, we always had pets and are animal lovers.
