About this sitter
UPS. I am already in France/Toulouse where I'm aiming to pass the C1 exam this July. I will be free to house-sit after July 20th and for a longer period.
I am an experienced traveler, with my curiosity still in place. I have also realized that staying put in one place for a longer time, brings so much more than just passing by, I am a barrister (lawyer) who now works as a mediator, which allows me to combine my passion to help and my desire to secure equality under the law. I have been studying French for two years (at B2 level now), and my future plans involve a relocation to France, wherefore I have been traveling to France every time I have the opportunity for the last four years. I love my own company, but I am also very social and have an ability to connect to people I meet - as I regard an encounter as unique and awarding. And by the way, I can work for two - and love getting my hands dirty! Prior to studying law, I finalized a degree in fashion/so knitting/needle-point is still a hoppy of mine.
Why they want to house sit
House sitting is a perfect way of traveling, as the best way for me is to emerge myself in the daily life of a new place and not just being a tourist. I have lived already in three other countries, and traveled in 60 other as well. I know the need of having someone to rely on to tend to ones place and/or pets when either work, family or travel desires takes one away from home.
Their experience
Yes, I am. I have been a sitter several times for friends and I have been a host (and traveller) both at Airbnb and HomeExchange for years now, so I am well aware of both how to be the best guest and host possible. And I must say that my first sitting arranged through this site was SO amazing.
What can they bring to the assignment
I bring care, considerations, curiosity and I will treat the place and the pets as they were my own. And I am very hands on, and no practical issue will be too much. I know how to change an oil filter in a car, paint a roof, sand down doors, and I have updated my own house and gardens. I am always amazed by nature.

A wonderful house sitter!
Bettina house sat for us for 2 months during Winter 2021/2022. She did an excellent job of looking after our elderly dog and 3 cats, plus our small flock of sheep. She is very practical and hard working and willing to turn her hand to anything. She was also great fun in the time we spent with her at the start of the house sit. In addition, she was very flexible and understanding when we had to change our dates at short notice. Would thoroughly recommend her and hopefully she will house site for us again!

Making the most of winter in south west France
We were so lucky that Bettina was available over Christmas and New Year - just when we needed her. She got in her car and drove all the way down to South West France from Denmark with her canine companion, Theo and right from the start it was clear that she would be a wonderful sitter. Communicative and friendly, she was interested in the house, the garden and the local towns and villages and was keen to make the most of her stay. We were conscious of the fact that rural France in winter is perhaps not the easiest place to be, especially for someone on their own, but we need not have worried about Bettina. She had a positive outlook, whatever the weather, and found all kinds of jobs that needed doing, both inside and out. She discovered new walks along the river with Theo and took care of our house as if it were her own. Not only that, she joined a yoga class in the nearby town, made friends with the locals and was invited out for oysters and champagne on Christmas Eve. She kept in touch, regularly shared information and photographs and left the place immaculate. We hope that she will return to the area before long and we look forward to welcoming her back into our home again. Thank you Bettina.
