About this sitter

My wife Lauren and I have been married 30 years with two children. Our daughter is Dentist and our son is sitting for the BAR after just graduating from Law School. I was a CPA and for 25 years I was a Chief Financial Officer for a real estate company, but I am now retired. Lauren is grade school teacher at a local Montessori School. Prior to her teaching, she was a very successful “stay at home mother". The academic success of our children is directly attributed to the love and guidance she provided. Though parenting was her highest priority, Lauren’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology afforded her a career before having our family in desk top publishing for the second largest liquor distributor in the US.

I must emphasize our love for our pets. Clyde, our terrier mix of 16 years passed on September 4th 2019, He is missed so and I have tears as I type. I have the satisfaction of knowing that Clyde could not have lived a more interesting and finer life than he did in our home. This dedication will be carried over to all responsibilities to your pet and your home. I cherish my home, contents and possessions and we will do the same for yours. As a side bar, we are immaculate housekeepers. I practice yoga and do not eat chicken or meat.

Why they want to house sit

We backpacked when young and we traveled when we could as adults. Now is the time to continue to experience new places both in the states and overseas.

Their experience

David was a caretaker, house sitter for a 16 year old poodle in a house in the Bahamas for 91 days. I extended the three week obligation for over two more months when the owner was prevented to return due to covid. I was subsequently engaged by the owner again for three weeks as I was identified as trustworthy and appreciated for going beyond what I was obligated to do in an emergency. We are good with pets, plants, pools and gardens and when unexpected challenges happen, they will be addressed with maturity and the responsibility necessary. I have a green thumb for the garden and we both drive stick shift.

David watched my dog Shellie last year for 91 days at my home in Spanish Wells, Bahamas. Besides taking care of Shellie who was blind, David helped my caretaker manage the home. It was a stressful time as Covid kept me isolated from entering the Bahamas. David stayed an extra two months. I told him I preferred Shellie to be monitored by him even though the caretaker and his family were available to watch her as well. David stayed to accommodate me and I will always be thankful. My Shellie since passed and I know the quality of her life was enhanced with David's care.
