Trustworthy, Responsible Canadian Couple Seeking Long-term House/Pet Sitting

About this sitter

** We are available to house/pet sit in Mexico from mid January -April 20, 2024; minimal three week sit ** We are a retired professional couple looking to travel to new places and help people by looking after their property and pets. We met a fellow who told us about his wonderful house-sitting adventures and we thought "what a great idea!" We are honest, responsible, we respect other peoples' property, we love animals and we are super clean. We have travelled to many different countries since the 1980's and enjoy sharing customs, meals and friendship with people from all over the world. We have been so fortunate to meet wonderful people with huge hearts. We both grew up with cats and dogs for pets and know the responsibilities of looking after animals. Bev has experience with ostrich and pygmy goats as well, We are looking to get out of the cold in Canada, to meet new people and to give ease to pet-owners that their pets will be in "good hands". We will look after your pets and property as if it was our own.

Why they want to house sit

We love to travel, we love animals and we love to experience new counties and cultures. After hearing about this service, we just knew it would be a new opportunity for us to explore. We are reliable, considerate, honest people with good ethics and understanding of the importance of good care and the huge responsibility of looking after other peoples' pets and property.

Their experience

We are new to house-sitting and we have rented properties from people in South America. We have done two three-month and a five and a half month term and have established friendships with the owners. We still communicate and they were very pleased with the condition of their properties when we ended our lease. As for experience, we grew up with pets and have always had a family pet I recently lost my sweet dog at 12 1/2 years old. She was a rescue dog and I miss her terribly. We enjoyed our daily walks, car rides, baths, play time and we cared for her like our child. I owned and operated an ostrich farm for six years in Alberta.The farm consisted of 200 ostrich, 13 pygmy goats, three cats and one dog. It was hard work every day 24/7, 365! I hatched babies out of eggs, everyone needed feeding, watering, proper shelter etc. It was an "animal farm" but we loved it! It taught us so much about life, the care of animals and so much more. Looking after a few dogs and cats will be the "cat's meow!" You will not have to worry about your loved ones or your property.

You can rest easy that your property and pets will be well-looked after while you're away. We will treat your home and pets as if they were our own. We are excellent at following instructions for care and feeding. We’ll love your pets, water plants, take care of your home through daily cleaning, chores, required maintenance and whichever duties need to be performed to keep your fur-babies content.
