Greetings home owners!
I'm a sales manager in a small publishing company, with a son at university and a whole new stage of life opening up for me. I am keen to take advantage of my ability to work remotely by experiencing new locations, combining caring for your pets and/or home alongside a taste of life in new places. I take great pleasure in caring for pets and ensuring they are happy and would treat your home with the same care, respect and attention to detail as my own. I'm hoping to find opportunities (good WiFi is essential for my work) with enough time to settle in, get to know and bond with your pets and look after your home alongside exploring the locality. I am personable, conscientious and caring by nature (plus a little house proud!) and will ensure your pets and home are looked after just as you would wish. I take pleasure in keeping a tidy home and I love pottering in the garden and being outdoors - good for the soul and such a welcome contrast to online work. Why they want to house sit
An opportunity to have a change of scene in the UK or abroad and, if there are pets to care for and get to know, that's an absolute bonus. The house sits I have completed this year have reminded me of how much I miss living with pets.
Their experience
It's been truly delightful being able to live with animals again through my new housesitting adventure, a way to experience new places but in a home environment alongside furry companions - a big treat! I completed two housesits in 2020 on this site (many more since on a different site) which I very much enjoyed, both sits looking after cats (and a tortoise!), home and garden in Italy and France respectively. Please see the owners’ reviews below and those from the other site can be made available. I felt very honoured to be entrusted with people's pets and homes and it was an absolute joy getting to know and bond with the little cats. I grew up with a menagerie of animals which I adored (long ago, my first Saturday job was in a pet shop - I ended up bringing many animals home!) and having run my own home with pets (sadly passed away now) and raised a family, alongside dog sitting for friends in London, I know how much I enjoy caring for animals. Meeting some lovely new people along the way has also been a delight, making connections with others despite the constraints during the pandemic.
What can they bring to the assignment
I am conscientious by nature and will ensure your pets and home are looked after with love and just as you wish. I take pleasure in making sure pets are happy and content (I love cuddling up and grooming them), keeping a tidy home and I enjoy pottering in gardens and being outdoors - good for the soul and such a welcome contrast to the world of technology. I consider it an honour to be entrusted to look after your home and pets and will respect your privacy and belongings. A fantastic, reliable, and trustworthy house and cat sitter for 9 weeks in France!
I was anxious to be leaving my little cat, Blue, for 9 weeks, however, Andrena quickly put my mind at ease. She truly cares and it is evident the moment you meet her. I had received many inquiries from housesitters but her introduction letter stood out as someone who was interested in caring for our cat and house and not just looking for a holiday spot. After a long Zoom chat (sorry Andrena!), I felt confident that I had found the right house sitter. Communication was excellent, she was always available and sent frequent updates, pictures, and videos of the cat and garden. Our Blue is quite shy and skittish, on top of that she requires daily medication administered by oral syringe. Andrena was able to quickly gain her trust and to continue her medication without missing a day. There were several times that I asked Andrena to send me documents from my files, read utility meters, and take care of a few maintenance items around the house, she completed everything promptly and competently. On my return, the house was spotless, complete with a freshly made bed and essential groceries in the refrigerator, so thoughtful and such a pleasant way to arrive home after a long day's travel! Our large and typically messy garden was in perfect order. Most importantly, our Blue was happy and healthy. It is clear that our little cat was accustomed to a set routine with Andrena, she comes and meows at me when it is time to be brushed, given milk, go outside, or petted. I cannot overstate how lucky I feel to have found Andrena to care for our home and Blue. I often have too high expectations, so please do not take my glowing testimonial lightly, Andrena truly made this house sitting experience positive and stress-free.

A wonderful, caring house and cat sitter
Andrena is a very caring gentle person who managed to make all my four cats fall in love with her. She kept me updated with photos and messages about how they were all doing. They all had smooth shiny coats and Felix, who hated being brushed now enjoys it. She kept the house perfectly clean and was so good in the garden doing many extra things for the plants that I hadn’t asked for. My cleaning lady who came once a week was full of compliments for Andrena and never had much to do. She is attentive and kind to animals and I highly recommend her to all house owners.
