Peace of mind for your next holidays

About this sitter

I'm a retired teacher (60) and, as my cat has died in March 2021, am both free to sit and in need of pet time. I am also a writer and book blogger and spend a lot of time sitting at my desk. So, at times, I enjoy getting out for a while, keeping to myself (and the pets, of course) and find some quiet elsewhere for my morning writing routine. I don't mind tending to a large house and spending lots of time outdoors with the pets or gardening. The latter I miss a lot since I don't have my own garden here.

Why they want to house sit

I've had pets in the past and I do miss them, but would like to travel, too. So helping other people with their pets, while they are travelling is a wonderful compromise of both "having" pets and seeing new places. When I travelled as a student, I have found out early on as that an unfamiliar surrounding helps the flow of ideas. I always bring a specific project to a journey.

Their experience

I've had some sits through MindmyHouse so far and they went really well. Before, I have tended to the houses of friends and colleagues, but also answered to ads, when my son was still little and we sat a house with two cats in Kassel and a large 200year-old farm house in the black forest with sheep and a watch dog (Kuvacs) to take care of.

What can they bring to the assignment

The people whose houses and pets I've sat appreciated my responsible and self-confident way of organizing the chores or communicating with neighbors, if necessary. Besides German, I speak both English and French fluently and workable Swedish (B1). By the way, as a German civil servant, I have undergone numerous police checks over the years.
