About this sitter
We love pets who love to be loved, neighbors who are friendly, in a culture different than ours, a home that may need a little maintenance, gardening+plant tending, etc. We are both pet lovers having owned pets (cats, dogs, fish, turtles, snakes, rabbits, birds,+) for the last 50 years. Steve is retired from 33 years of running a Management Consulting business in Oregon and California. Cindy retires in 2026 from managing 2 medical offices and teaching several courses in Medical Assistance, Medical Coding and Medical Billing curricula at a local community college. We can maintain and improve most home handyman needs since we have owned and maintained our homes and currently own two rentals in Bend, OR.
Why they want to house sit
Primarily, the rewarding experience of helping others leave their home supremely confident that their pets and possessions will be better cared for than they imagined. Secondarily, getting to know new people, their culture (if international), animals and places.

Excellent attention to detail and animal care
Steve and Cindy house sat for my family while we were away on vacation. We left quite the list of things to care for and they handled it with apparent ease! We have a cat, dog and 6 chickens, all were well cared for and they even took the time to find some of the eggs our sneaky chickens lay. Will definitely be using them again in the future as they are very flexible and responsive.

Perfect, stress-free time away
Steve and Cindy house sat for me for 6 very rainy weeks in Costa Rica. They kept my house in great shape and kept my dogs super happy and walked and well-fed. Prior to the house-sit they were responsive and accommodating as we worked out logistics and during my time away they notified me any time little things went wrong and sent me lots of pictures and videos. They even got around with a few of my ex-pat friends and really made themselves at home. Their profile says they like a challenge and unfortunately I wasn't able to give them a challenging stay--well, the roads here can be a challenge and they kept my car between the ditches, so well done! All in all, I couldn't have been happier.

Amazing housesitters
Cindy and Steve were amazing house sitters. They were extremely communicative, sent pictures, made sure the house was clean and sparkling. They even left it better than when they came. THANKS STEVE for sharpening my knives lol Anyway, this couple is a pleasure to work with and they will take care of your home spectacularly. Highly recommend!

Great cat and house care!
Once again, Steve and Cindy did a wonderful job taking care of my house and cats. The house sparkled on my return, and Steve even alerted me to a needed door fix (which he would've done if the tools had been available - he's also a handyman/prob let solver!). They sent a picture of the happy kits, which is always nice to get. The only downside is the kits have such a good time with Steve and Cindy, I think they miss them after they leave!

Great cat and house care!
Steve is a great house and pet sitter! He's been great with my 2 cats, even the shy one came out to greet him. Not only that, the house always looks better after he's cared for it. I can't recommend him ( and his wife Cindy) highly enough.
