About this sitter
We (Kevin & Kris) are opportunistic travelers. We are retired and have alot of flexibility for scheduling. We keep an eye out for house sitting possibilities that come with a reasonable set of expectations that are in an interesting-looking locale and that fit our schedule.
Why they want to house sit
We are outgoing people who like to meet others and have low-key opportunities to experience other places. Your pet and home will be our priority, but we like to walk, hike, and absorb the local culture.

We are experienced travelers, experienced pet owners (and lovers), parents, and experienced homeowners. Kevin is handy with all the things that come up to take care of a home. We had only used MindMyHouse to find sitters but it occurred to us it might be fun to be signed up to be sitters as well.

Great Experience!
Kevin stayed at my house for almost two weeks, taking care of my once-feral cat, as well as lots of house plants and hummingbirds. He is the perfect combo of laid back alongside attention to detail. Very responsive and communicative but not overly so. He made time to come to the house ahead of my trip so we could go over things which was super helpful. The house looked awesome when I came home, including the hot tub. He even cleaned a wall of floor to ceiling windows in the sunroom which was incredibly appreciated! Most importantly, Meow Meow was relaxed when I came back, which means Kevin gave him good attention. I was a little later than expected getting out of town (which he was very kind about) so I got to see them interact and Kevin was very sweet to Meow Meow, who took to him right away (which is not always the case). I would highly recommend Kevin!

Best house-/catsitter ever, incredibly positive experience
I first met Kevin via Zoom and right from the beginning he was very friendly and eager. This first impression got approved when we met Kevin in real life the day before we left for our trip. Kevin looked after our house for us for 3 weeks in August. It was our first housesitting experience - and it was absolutely great! Kevin did an amazing job, being an extremely decent, reliable, caring, tidy, and organised person. We felt that our two cats were in good hands, and this gave us a lot of freedom to enjoy our holidays. Both of the cats made friends with him, even the very shy one who typically would keep a big distance from strangers. When we arrived back home, we were astonished to find our house in such a good shape, even better tidied up than before. If ever possible, we would be super happy to entrust our house and cats to him again or to meet him and his wife. (In addition to all these advantages, Kevin is a real expert when it comes to German regions, traditions, etc. He knows more about Germany than most Germans do, I guess). We can only recommend Kevin to everyone!!!
