About this sitter
We are an active, retired, non-smoking couple looking to do a little traveling. We're both fully vaccinated, even boosters. We like to garden, walk/hike. Loren is handy at work on the house and yard and enjoy tinkering on his '66 Volvo. We enjoy a large yard, and garden and our two cats love it when we spend time in the yard. During a house sit we will keep your house clean and safe, feed/care for and love your pets, and tend your property as needed. We'll get to know your area, explore a bit of local culture, and know we have a safe place to call home base.
Why they want to house sit
I'm excited by the prospect of an exchange network with trustworthy people. I like the idea of helping others feel safe when they leave their homes and pets and at the same time enjoy a change of scenery for myself. Making friends and getting to know other areas will be a bonus! Additionally, I would love to use my fledgling Spanish and learn other languages too.
Their experience
Loren and I are experienced homeowners for 35+ years and renters before that. We've handled frozen or burst pipes, clogged drains. roofing repair after a tree fall and all the basic home repair and maintenance that one would normally expect. Loren has installed basic electrical circuits, planned and installed plumbing services, done basic framing tasks around the property. Additionally we've planned and installed our own landscaping, maintain irrigation, and have an annual vegetable garden plus figs, pears, plums and berries. We've looked after friends' houses, and multiple dogs and cats including when those animals were ill, giving pills, shots, infusions if needed. We have cats currently, but have had retrievers/ labs/ setters in the past as well. Chickens have supplied many an egg.
What can they bring to the assignment
We are trustworthy, respectful, and mindful people that will treat your home as we would our own home with a mindful eye towards safety and security. Your pets will be treated like the darling, mischievous, forever cute family members they are. We are willing to branch out to care for other animals as well: birds, reptiles, goats, pigs, sheep - just tell us what to do!

Emily and Loren are a Super Nice Couple
We have a fairly large property (2 acres of garden/landscaping and lawn) with correspondingly complicated requirements. It was a lot to keep up with. Emily and Loren did a fine job, especially we were pleased with the care of our pets, 3 cats and 2 dogs, yard and spa. They are good communicators, diligent and respectful of the home. We came home to find the puppies super happy, the kitties missing them ( Emily and Loren), the house clean and everything in order. We were happy to have them!

Couldn't recommend Emily more highly!!
Emily spent 2 1/2 weeks at my house and was absolutely amazing. This was my first time using MMH and Emily was so super communicative- she just made the process so easy and comfortable. I will definitely contact her again. I have 6 chickens, a garden, many houseplants and 2 cats- all were taken care of well and my cats seemed so relaxed. She left the house very clean as well. All around, really great experience and Emily was the best!!

Emily truly allowed me to RELAX while I was away from my kitty
I have only positive things to say about my experience with Emily and MMH. This was my first go with this service, and I couldn't be happier with how everything came together. Emily was clear about what she needed from me in advance, communicative throughout her 10-day stay, and left my place immaculate. She also left me a bowl of curry that she made! My cat (Lefty) seemed completely content when I returned home, and my neighbors praised Emily's presence. She was complimentary about my home and was able to make herself comfortable, which made me very happy! I'm encouraged that Emily would be willing to repeat this housesit and she will definitely be my first call next time I go away. Lefty and I both rate her 10 out of 10! Seriously - everything was EASY from start to finish.

A Real Jewel!
Emily took amazing care of our home and our animals even in the face of being ill for the first few days and having a less-than-positive hand-off from the previous house sitter. She is kind, thoughtful, and a true delight. Loren is also a gracious and kind person. They are everything one could want in house sitters. Highly Recommend!!!

Great Experience
Emily and Loren were here for a week while we traveled out of state. They came a day early and we were able to have some dinners together and it was a pleasure to get to know them. They sent us texts and photos of our pup and left the place as they found it, cleaner if anything. Highly recommended.

Savi Sitter
Emily and her husband Loren exceeded our expectations in taking care of our three cats and our home for three weeks. They came a day early to learn our routine and stayed an extra day to make sure we returned home ok. The minute they walked through our front door my husband and I felt like we were meeting old friends. Our cats began bonding with Emily and Loren immediately. Our neighbor also became friends with Emily and Loren and they visited with each other. Loren kindly bought parts and fixed the toilet. We came home to a clean house and happy cats that I know miss their new "Aunt Emily and Uncle Loren". I don't have the words to express how strongly I recommend these folks. Outstanding sitter for my pets and house
I am so thankful for Emily. Emily stayed with my two dogs for almost a week. She is dependable, honest, caring, and thorough. She kept me informed while I was away and regularly texted pictures of the dogs. I knew that my dogs and my house were totally safe while I was gone. And both of my dogs love her. When I returned, my house was as clean (or cleaner) than when I left. I give her my highest recommendation. I would not hesitate to have her sit for me again.

Highly Recommend!
Emily sat for us while we were away. From our first meeting via Skype, we felt very comfortable with her. She communicated with us while we were away, took excellent care of our dog and 2 cats and the house was spotless upon our return.
