About this sitter

I am an introvert, who enjoys spending time with animals, volunteering, exploring, reading, gardening, photography and using my creative side as much as possible. I telework five days a week (for a health & science university) and am able to spend time with your pets throughout the day to ensure they have the love and attention that they need. I enjoy going on adventures with the pups that I sit for. I am also just as content cuddling up with them at home.
I have extensive experience with gardening, plant care, and yard maintenance. I worked as a florist for 10 years and have always had a garden and eclectic selection of plants of my own. I bring over 20 years of experience in house/pet sitting. I use this platform to help people and spend time with animals, while being afforded the opportunity to occasionally travel on a budget. Currently, my home base is Indiana and I pet sit all over the U.S. and Canada. I have a somewhat flexible schedule at times and reliable transportation, therefore I have no trouble driving up to 16 hours to do a house sit. I never fly. Finally, I love photography and will most likely send you lots of cute photos of your pets.

Why they want to house sit

I recently purchased a historic house in Indiana, but before that I always rented and could not have pets of my own. Pet sitting is the perfect way to spend time with animals in the comfort of their own home, where they feel the happiest and safest. Pet/house sitting affords me the opportunity to explore other cultures and environments, while enjoying the connection to the local community. I also love tending to gardens and working on any home projects that the homeowners might need help with. I am a solo traveler and pet sitting allows me the chance to have a pet companion to snuggle with or explore the outdoors with. My hope is to continue house sitting for as long as I am able, whether on a continuous basis, or from time to time. It has been a fantastic way to enrich and support my travels, while being able to truly serve others, as I've seen the gratitude that homeowners have when they know their beloved pets have been taken good care of while they're away.

Their experience

My fondness for animals started at a very early age. My family and I started caring for animals before I could even walk. We adopted anything from a ferret to a salamander. As an adult I have spent many years volunteering at pet shelters and pet sitting for my family, friends, and even people 2,000 miles away that I had never met (before I even heard of MindMyHouse or TrustedHousesitters). I have been pet sitting via TrustedHousesitters since 2018 and MindMyHouse since 2021. I have cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and other farm animals.

What can they bring to the assignment

I am independent and self sufficient. I have experience in pool maintenance, yard care and gardening. I worked in a floral shop for 10 years, so I have a bit of a green thumb and have quite the assortment of succulents.
I am a very intuitive and vigilant person by nature and can sense if anything has changed in an animal’s health or behavior.
