Why they want to house sit
I enjoy get-aways and adventures when I am out on school breaks. I like to meet new people (also pets) and be immersed in a community/environment and hotel experiences are much the same.

I own my own home. I have dogs and cats, of my own, so I’m used to caring for them all daily.
What can they bring to the assignment
I will treat your home and pets as I would my own. I am also fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and the flu.

Friendly and Reliable House/Pet Sitters!
Julia (who goes by Christi) and her mom came all the way to Northern Virginia from Oklahoma to house/pet sit for us this fall. We enjoyed meeting them and sharing a few meals together before we left for a family reunion. They were super friendly and great with our dog and cat, and left the house clean and tidy. We would have them sit for us again if the circumstances worked out; you won't be sorry if you choose Christi to house/pet sit for you!

Clean and responsible critter sitters
I met up in person with Christi (Julia), her husband and her mother, Barbara, when I traveled from Arizona back home in March when they could also meet Louis & Dakota, in person. Christi and Barbara would be traveling together and babysitting for me. While they had a difficult time getting here due to travel / flight delays, they kept me in the loop and we were able to get them here in the nick of time for me to get to the airport. I appreciated that they kept in touch and I was able to help problem-solve to get them here when the airlines rerouted them to a nearby-ish airport as I don't trust leaving before folks are either confirmed en route or here so that I know the dogs will be cared for, etc. We didn't get any overlapping time to go over the house and dog care, but I had left a notebook full of instructions for both that I thought might be useful; that seemed to have worked. While I was gone, I got periodic updates from Christi and Barbara about the dogs (Dakota got diarrhea one day; the dogs caught and killed a bunny another), the car I lent them (key fob battery needed replaced) and the house (shower/tub leak!). Thankfully this is why I have a dog/house sitter while I'm away. We were able to handle all these things. Christi and Barbara were given my car to explore the area while I was gone and it seemed they sure enjoyed the area - heading to Toronto for the day, Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Fort Niagara and taking an Erie Canal boat trip! As noted above, they also took the key fob to the dealer to get a battery replacement when that started to malfunction as well. When I returned home, we were able to coordinate car drop offs at the airport (Uber and airport car service is expensive here!) as I returned nearly the time they were flying out. I came home to a house that looked exactly as clean and organized as I had left it 2 weeks earlier...I mean even the beds didn't look slept in!! The dogs were happy to see me and I was happy to know that they were safe and well cared for while I was gone. I would certainly recommend Christi and her mom (or her husband) to any other home/pet sitter and would have them back again if they wished!
