About this sitter

I do have references but won't upload them for privacy's sake, will share them privately if required. I am an experienced animal carer, a former freelance house sitter. I have a national certificate in agriculture and I'm used to looking after all kinds of animals. I also have a pet sitting diploma.

I have looked after many domestic animals and livestock. I'm confident with strong dogs and also with administering vet meds and I can often gain the confidence of a timid dog or cat. I'm used to feral cats and I've even looked after a wolf.

I'm non-smoking, non-drinking and honest. I take my responsibilities seriously. I can provide references as required.

I'm currently travelling without a car but have a full licence.
I can bring with me and provide contact numbers for references and written references. And I think it's a good idea to talk online or via whatsapp video or even meet before I start a house sit.

Why they want to house sit

Travel, experience, enjoyment, exploring new areas as well as a place to write, as I'm a writer, and house sitting seems to fit well with writing. I enjoy a break from my normal life and the stress and hustle, which is why I like country house sits.

Their experience

I have a lot of experience. I first house sat in my early 20s when I was a gardener-caretaker for large properties in the UK. I have looked after every kind of property from a small city flat with a Maine Coon cat of all things! (she liked to swim in the sink), to smallholdings and holiday homes that were vulnerable to squatters. I'm confident with security, maintenance, and dealing with any situations that arise. I'm a good gardener and cleaner. I have a basic understanding of all utilities systems and what to do in emergencies, I'm highly qualified in health and safety (Ireland), so all you need to do is ensure I know all utilities shutoff switches and taps before you go, and where you keep the candles :)

What can they bring to the assignment

I care very much for the welfare of the animals I look after, and I keep to the owner's instructions in looking after them, unless there's a very good reason not to. I am used to dealing with post and parcels, trades and any necessary arrangements to do with house, garden and pets, I'm confident with vet meds and taking animals to the vet, I enjoy a good dog walk, I also tolerate being climbed on by cats, until the claws get too sharp.

I treat your neighbours with respect and will happily interact with them about any issues, and I am friendly, quiet, socially responsible and independent.
