About this sitter
We are in our upper 60’s and love to travel the US on driving trips. We also travel to South America and Europe and who knows where else. We are quiet, non-smokers, easygoing, love animals and were raised to always return something to someone in better condition than we found it. We often travel in the US by car visiting our families in CO, GA, NJ, and ME. If you are outside those states that’s fine. ONE CAVEAT: we now have a new family member - Oliver our 2 year old Boodle (Bichon/mini-poodle mix) who would most likely travel with us so keep that in mind if you ask us to house sit. He's housetrained and a very good young man with all his shots, etc.
Why they want to house sit
We love to see the world and meet new people and animals. We aren’t in a hurry so caring for a home and being around is no problem for us. I am a retired cabinetmaker, and an artist, writer and musician and love long periods of quiet time. My wife is a retired schoolteacher. We also love nature (we volunteer at a local nature center when home) so home sitting in back country is fine with us.

What can they bring to the assignment
Competent, responsible (my wife was a grammar school teacher for 30 years and I was a cabinetmaker for 46 years and owned my own company), and caring people. We will treat your home and pets as if they were ours. I might even be coaxed into doing a cabinet repair here and there.
I am also an avid gardener so I love to tend a garden.

WONDERFUL couple!
Geoff and Laurel were absolutely fantastic house sitters! We were a bit nervous about leaving our fur babies Tigger and Tattie (anxious dog and blind cat, both rescues) with house sitters, but Geoff and Laurel became their new best friends in no time. Even more adorable, Geoff helped Tigger write us letters every day to let us know that he was having a great time and to update us on all his antics! Their communication really put our minds at ease while we were half way across the world, and gave us a laugh too! Geoff and Laurel were also very neat and tidy and held down the fort during a surprise snow storm. They went above and beyond with everything and were so understanding and flexible when our plans changed last minute. We would 100% let them take care of our house and animals again in the future, and so should you! Tigger especially told us he would love to keep in touch ???? We're glad we got to meet such a sweet, interesting, and funny couple!

Geoff and Laurel EXCEEDED my high expectations
Let me count the ways that Geoff and Laurel went over the top when they house sat in my 2 bedroom 2 bath house with my elderly cat, Malcolm. 1. They stayed in communication but not too much not too little. I got updates and fun photos & videos of Malcolm every day. 2. They bonded with my cat and he is old and has issues -- but they took it in stride. 3. The house was spotless when I got home and the sheets were laundered and dry in the dryer. 4. They did exactly what they said they would do -- VERY RELIABLE. 5. Geoff pointed out and explained how to fix various carpentry things in the house like a broken drawer and a recent cabinet which has issues - he spelled out how to make it better. 6. They are super super nice and they put up with a change of plans at the last minute and stayed a little longer than we expected when out plane was cancelled -- no problems when we had to regroup and figure out a new getaway. 7. It was so comforting to know that our cat was well looked after while we were away. Thank you Geoff and Laurel.
