About this sitter
My name is Katrin, I’m German living on the beautiful Canary Islands,
I’m trilingual ( German, English, Spanish)
I’m a mature, 100% reliable, very organised and tidy, active animal lover.
I love running, cycling, swimming, in general being outside in nature. I like to go on long walks, preferably with dogs, being it in the countryside or at the beach.
Apart from the outside activities I regularly do yoga and Pilates, love reading and enjoy spending my time with pets. I’m a vegan, non-smoker, non-drinker, I enjoy a healthy lifestyle and I’m definitely not a partygoer.
Why they want to house sit
I love housesitting because I like being in “real” places like villages and towns , having the company of pets to care for which I find much more rewarding than staying in resorts as an ordinary tourist. Being a vegan and always looking for healthy options I prefer going shopping in local places, preparing my own food instead of eating out in restaurants.
As I have a dog myself I know how the owners feel about leaving their pets while they are away and I genuinely love to provide them with peace of mind knowing that their pets are happy and safe.
I use mindmyhouse.com both ways, as an owner and a sitter because I just find it the perfect option for both of them and of course for the pets!

So far I have had the opportunity to housesit in several places in the UK, the Netherlands and in Spain where I met wonderful people, adorable dogs and cute cats.
Due to the pandemic I reactivated my account on this website and unfortunately Not all the owners’ reviews are available anymore.
What can they bring to the assignment
I bring lots of experience caring for animals, being a dog owner myself for more than 20 years, earlier on I also used to have a horse for 20 years and I have been looking after lots of dogs and cats for friends and neighbours apart from the housesitting opportunities on MMH.
As every pet is different and has its own character I’m always willing to learn and I’m grateful for every new experience. Of course I stay in touch with the owners during their absence and send pics of their furry friends if they wish so.
Apart from that, I take good care of the house and plants if required.

Kind easygoing animal lover who gifted us with a fantastic house sit
Katrin came to house and let sit for us for almost 2 weeks in August 2022. Communication beforehand was easy and felt natural from the start. We „warned“ Katrin about the fact that it can get pretty busy for a single person with our 5 dogs and a bunch of cats but she felt confident that she was up to the task. Upon meeting in person we felt directly at ease, and once we saw the love and mutual adoration between her and our animals there wasn‘t a doubt left in our minds that we had made the right choice. Whilst away on vacation we got regular updates and any questions could be handled easily. We returned to a tidy house and happy animals who got more exercise with Katrin in two weeks than with us in a year ;-) Katrin is a kind, honest soul who seems very much in touch with nature and herself. She is also really active and sportive so for us and our pack, it was the perfect match. We really hope to be able to welcome her back sometime in the future and can only give her the highest recommendations.

Super friendly and totally reliable
We spent a little time with Katrin before leaving her in the paws of Mabel. She was delightful in every way and looked after Mabel and our house and garden superbly. Only Covid prevented us from asking her back. I have no hesitation in recommending her to mind your home Judith
