About this sitter
I am a retired lady living a happy life. I am from Colorado but currently residing in Palm Springs, CA, enjoying the wonderful weather and freedom of retirement. I normally travel many months of the year in the U.S. and Europe. I believe that pet/house sitting is a very nice option for enjoying new places and experiences. I believe that house sitting is a great benefit for both the homeowner and the house sitter.
Why they want to house sit
I love animals and travel, and by combining those I am able to enjoy the joys of both. Since I travel so much and not able to have a pet of my own, it is wonderful to have a pet to care for and enjoy when I am house sitting.
Their experience
I began cat sitting in July/Aug 2022 and have done one or two sits every year since then. I have also house sat for family and friends. I find these experiences to be fun and rewarding. I enjoy getting to know the kitties and we seem to bond quickly.
What can they bring to the assignment
I am a retired professional, and very dependable, clean, and trustworthy. I respect the value of people's homes but most importantly their beloved animals and want to make sure that the owner can be comfortable knowing their home and "children" are well cared for.

Elaine was an exceptional house and cat sitter from the very first moment. She is incredibly flexible, reliable, and has a truly beautiful energy that immediately puts both people and animals at ease. Her communication was outstanding throughout the entire stay — she kept me regularly updated with detailed messages and lovely photos of the cats, which gave me so much peace of mind. Elaine was very friendly and communicative from the beginning, and she always replied to my e-mails and messages quickly. She was keen to know all the details about the food and care of the cats in order to be able to do the things the way the cats are used to. I felt reassured throughout my holiday that my cats were in good hands, as Elaine sent me daily messages and photos to let me know how she and the cats were doing. The cats looked healthy and relaxed when I came home. Elaine was also flexible about the beginning and end of her stay, which made my departure and my return very smooth. I am very happy to provide a testimonial for Elaine, who recently took care of our house and cat in Switzerland for two weeks. Elaine really did a great job; she was kind and friendly throughout her stay, showing genuine care for our cat (and our plants!) We returned to find our house in good order and our pet well looked after. As an extra, Elaine shared with us some of her expert knowledge of European travel. She shared a number of amazing travel recommendations! Also worth mentioning is Elaine's flexibility. When a situation arose where I needed to host a friend at the same time, Elaine was very accommodating and worked out a solution that worked for everyone. A great sitter :-)
Elaine looked after our apartment and our cat for four weeks this summer (2022). We were very happy with how it all went - She took good care of everything, handled the occasional problem with great competence, and communicated very well. She kept us up to date with regular nice photos of our cat, and was generally friendly and pleasant all around. We would happily have Elaine as a sitter in the future, and we are sure that Bambou (our cat) would agree!
