About this sitter
We are an honest, reliable, quiet retired couple. We love pet/house sitting, as it is the best way to spend time with animals and take care of a home. Something we miss, as we are traveling in our early retirement.
Why they want to house sit
We enjoy animals, I've always had a dog or a cat my entire life. With traveling, it is hard to own a pet now. House-sitting is an excellent way to get to enjoy spending time with dogs, cat, chickens, donkeys, sheep, ducks, pigs (we have experience woofing and workaways).
Their experience
We have the following experience:
1 - Hobby farm of 30 chickens, a dog and a cat and a garden.
2 - Turkey farm including suckling cows and sheep.
3 - Housesit with 2 dogs, 2 cats and 3 chickens, and a garden.
4 - A housesit with 2 donkeys, a dog, 3 cats, 5 ducks and a lovely garden area.
5 - Organic Farm with 7 polytunnels, plus 9 sheep, 3 pigs, 3 ducks and 5 chicken.
6 - My partner also has 4 months working on a dairy farm.
7- 2 more house sits with 5 and 4 dogs.
8 - 2 sits, one with a dog and one with a kitty.
Note, although the site shows a handful of house sits, we have completed more through other avenues and have returned to prior homes we have completed a sit for.
What can they bring to the assignment
When we are pet sitting, it's about your pets and your home. We are not there to tour around. We love to walk, your dog(s) will not go without getting out and about. Your pets will love all the attention they get from us. Your garden will be looked after.

Fabulous Pet Sitters | Extremely Responsible
Celina and Derrick were great! Just really above and beyond what we had anticipated. Our cat ended up developing an abscess (on a cut he already had before we left) and they did everything to care for him and make him feel comfortable and loved. They brought him to the vet, administered antibiotics, and kept a cone on him (no easy feat!) to make sure his paw would heal. They even managed to keep him inside (but got him a harness so they could bring him outside safely). They kept us informed and sent great pics. We were worried our cat would be depressed when they left lol. These guys are total animal lovers. They also kept our hedge alive through a drought and we came home to a spotless home. Highly recommend them for all kinds of house- and pet-sits. They are super capable and responsible. Don't hesitate!

Perfect first try
After we decided to plan another extended vacation this summer—probably the last one with all the kids—we had to figure out what to do about the family dog, the house, the yard, the mail, the fish, the houseplants, etc., etc. That’s how we came across the MindMyHouse platform (on the advice of AI). We had people interested as early as the first day! Since this was our first time trying something like this, we were a bit skeptical and nervous at first about whether it would actually work out. After our first video call with Celina and Derrick, we were already feeling very confident, and we stayed in sporadic contact with them leading up to the trip to answer questions and coordinate schedules. What can I say: Everything went perfectly! Our dog took to Celina and Derrick right away, and he got to go on the longest and most beautiful hikes with them. We kept receiving photos of their adventures and—knowing that everything was fine at home—were able to enjoy our vacation 100% stress-free. Our house sitters were even indispensable when our daughter was applying to college, because an original document had to be mailed from home. Celina handled that perfectly, even without knowing any German. And when we came home, not only did we find our home well-cared-for, but we were also treated to a delicious Canadian meal! Thank you so much for everything!!

Celia and Derrick animal sitters
What a fantastic capable couple , I could not have wished for more. They took such great care of my 2 dogs and cat, my house and garden all could not have been more perfect. .From the video call i had with Celina i got the impression straight away that they were the perfect couple for my animal sit and my instinct certainly proved to be right, everything was brilliant and i was able to spend just over 4 weeks away without any stress or worry, I got some lovely photos. e If you are looking for an animal sitter and you get the chance to have Celina and Derrick, don't hesitate, i would have them back in a heart beat and I know my dogs would be so happy to see them again.

Super couple
Celina and Derrick are a lovely, interesting couple who took great care of our animals. Celina kept in touch with me to easy my worries about leaving several ageing animals. Unfortunately they had to take my elderly cat to be put to sleep, I felt very bad that they found themselves in this situation. But she reassured me and they stayed with, and comforted, him right to the end. For which I am very grateful. The house was well looked after and there was even a meal waiting for us the day we came home! We would be very happy to have them house sit for us again in the future. Thank you Celina and Derrick

Fabulous house-sitters
We are delighted that Celina and Derrick contacted us after seeing our request for house-sitters earlier this year. We were planning an important family holiday so reliability was essential. The months before we were due to go away we were in regular communication about dates of arrival and travel plans so we were confident they would be here when we needed them. They embraced our animals, house, garden and land with gusto and we were able to leave for our holiday knowing that our home and pets were in safe and capable hands. Celina and Derrick went over and above our expectations of house-sitters and voluntarily mowed our extensive grass areas, strimmed our footpaths and weeded some of our gravel areas during their time here; for that we are really grateful. Derrick is also very practical and good at problem solving and had restrung the electric fence around our donkeys before we'd left, and mended the strimmer before our return. Although they didn’t have a car and we are located 8km from the closest shop, they used our bikes for shopping and exploring the local area. Celina's pulled pork meal the night before we left was delicious and much appreciated. We really enjoyed meeting them both and hearing about their travels and travel plans to come and we hope that we see them again sometime.

Super housesitters!
We are very grateful to have had Celina and Derek as housesitters. They are a very kind and nice couple, super helpful and animal lovers. The dogs loved them, they took a lot of long walks with them. They took very good care of the garden and the house, they also did some works, Derek is a real handyman. super super recommended!
