About this sitter

Hi! We're Agnieszka & Jonathan, and Brian the dog (a young, small Podenco mix) - we are a couple of teachers who love animals! We are into long distance running, hiking in the mountains, and travelling. We are interested in sustainability and living a healthy lifestyle in body and mind. We're vegan, minimalists and even minimalist runners (combining the two quite neatly).
We teach online nowadays after many years in classrooms and so are flexible as to location and are taking the opportunity to flex that flexibility.

Why they want to house sit

We were pet sitting and dog walking in the city of Valencia for over two years and have been house and petsitting in Andalusia and Catalonia.
We love to meet new dogs and cats and getting to know them. It is so rewarding to build rapport with a little furry friend who used to be a stranger. Sure, sometimes it's a little sad to say goodbye, but we often get the chance to meet again like old friends and even if we don't see them again on their journeys, it's great to know we've given them fun times and kept good company. I have always had dogs in my life and pet sitting has given me a chance to get to know so many dogs and cats with their unique and sometimes quirky personalities. I absolutely love it. Pet and house sitting combines our passion for animals with a passion for being in nature, hiking and trail running. In rural Andalusia, the pace of life has slowed but it's been really nice to be able to develop a longer term relationship with the dog and cats during our longer sits.

Their experience

We have been looking after other people's animals for several years now. We often hosted dogs and cats in our home as well as taking care of others in their own homes while their owners have been away on holiday or business. With some of the people we've sat for, we have developed ongoing relationships.
We have hosted pets for short, medium and long periods - from daycare or overnight stay to stays of six weeks or more. We have dealt with all ages, from young, energetic pups to elderly dogs with sometimes challenging medical needs and everything in between (including post-operatively and with casts and mobility complications). We're confident administering medication.
Finally, I'm pleased to say that we have never needed to cancel any reservations - reliability inherited from our professional lives.
Both of us having grown up in the countryside with large gardens, we are familiar with what is needed to keep things blooming and everything in check in the garden. We are neat and tidy about the house.
Long term and short term arrangements both have their advantages, and any small disadvantages are more than made up for by the positives.

What can they bring to the assignment

We care about animals' wellbeing and are very mindful about the environment and sustainability. We can assure you that your pets will feel happy and safe with us and your garden and plants will be well maintained. We can bring you peace and quiet knowing that your pets and home are in good loving hands. We tend to send the owners a few daily updates with photos and videos so that they never need to wonder how their furry family members are doing.
