I am fulfilling my dreams of retirement, lucky as I am. I retired in June 2016 from my State Department job in Bermuda and became “homeless,” or perhaps I should say I became a citizen of the world. I’ve been house and pet sitting my way around the globe in places like the UK, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Thailand, Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand.

I thrive on seeing new places and experiencing new cultures. It’s not always easy, but it is always very interesting and rewarding. Traveling alone would not have been my wish, but I have found strength and resilience a joie de vivre in life and have learned to rely on myself. Plus I’ve met some lovely people, many of whom I keep in touch with via social media. As well, I’ve had the privilege of looking after some cute and cuddly pets who were a source of unconditional affection.
