About this sitter
We are Jim and Carolyn, a retired couple from Canada who do contract work on-line. When we are not with our family in Germany and Canada, we are living at our home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We love to travel and we love animals. Jim was an instructor at a polytechnic institute, Carolyn was a school principal and is currently an educational consultant. We are looking for an opportunity to see different parts of the world, enjoy different cultures, and be active in the outdoors.
Why they want to house sit
We have enjoyed all the benefits having a pet provides. We have always had dogs as part of our family and value the unique relationship that is possible with animals. We no longer have our dogs and now have the opportunity to travel, but miss the companionship of our pets. House sitting provides the opportunity to travel and connect with animals.
Their experience
For years we were involved in home exchanges and our experiences with this were always extremely positive. Recently, we had the opportunity to look after pets belonging to our friends and family members. We were pet owners for over thirty years. We have completed 4 very successful pet sits in the UK July/August 2023, and 2 in Canada August/September 2024.
What can they bring to the assignment
We can bring love and great care to pets! We have been home owners for 40 years and understand how important it is to ensure your home is well taken care of by trusted individuals who have great respect for the property of others. Jim is a multi-disciplined tradesperson and is very handy with household maintenance.

We couldn’t have had better than Jim & Carolyn
This was our first time having someone house sit, and we couldn’t have had better than Jim & Carolyn. They gave our two dogs excellent attention every day with great walks and lots of TLC and photos. They kept our home in maculate condition and were more than accommodating for planned calls and any other needs. They clearly enjoy house sitting and pay close attention to every detail. We would be very pleased to have them house sit for us again in the future.

Would love to have them again
Jim and Carolyn were wonderful house sitters. They took the time for calls in the run up to the house and we felt very safe leaving Cleo and our home in their hands. They communicated regularly with updates on Cleo with photos which was reassuring and lovely to have. The house was spotless when we returned and have even had people come up to me in Richmond Park to say how great Jim and Carolyn were! Would love to have them again….

We have just arrived back from our holidays and we were so pleased that we left Jim and Carolyn in charge of our dogs and our home. I cannot recommend them highly enough, I'm sure anyone that they sit for will feel the same. They bonded with our dogs immediately and took particular care to note what we explained about their personalities and habits. Our dogs came number one during their sit and when they left our dogs were crying. On the house side, everything was left spotless and I came back to find my (many) houseplants thriving. We have planted more trees in the garden that needed water and they looked after these trees beautifully. We were kept updated with photos of the dogs so were confident that they were in good hands. Carolyn and Jim are a lovely couple. It was a pleasure to meet them and have them in our house. 100% happy. Helen

Jim & Caroline were so wonderful
Jim & Caroline were so wonderful. They took extra care of Bella and let her explore Cambridge with them. We came home to a extra clean house and flowers! I cant say enough about how confident I felt leaving Bella and the house in their care. Thank you!!
