About this sitter

Jeroen and Birgit (non-smoker), both from Amsterdam, both senior ;-) but young in spirit and luckily also in body.
Birgit (59) works online as a web designer (and needs wifi or good mobile network). Jeroen (63) is a tropical biologist who has decided 10 years ago to become a handyman and has good maintenance skills. He is able to do small maintenance at the site. He will bring some equipment if we come by car ;-)

Why they want to house sit

We both dream of sunny days during wintertime. South Europe or a more tropical country. Housesitting seems a good way of fulfilling that dream. It also feels good to look after a home and pets, when the owners enjoy their travel. We will come by car in case the housesit is in Europe, bring our good vibes and look forward to taking care of your home and pets.
We are looking for housesits for winter 2024-2025 (preferably at least 1 month stay). Feel free to contact us.

Their experience

We love dogs, cats and other small animals. Jeroen has had dogs, chickens, goats, ducks for many years. Both good gardeners, we have an allotment. We did a housesit in Spain Jan-March 2023 and a housesit in the same house December 2023-March 2024, wonderful. Birgit has been housesitting in the Provence for a few winters through mutual friends. We both have experience with living in remote, lonely areas (and look forward to that), dealing with woodstoves, septic tanks, water wells, rough nature, no central heating, living in lower temperatures than in central heated Netherlands ;-) etc. We both travelled a lot, Jeroen worked in tropical countries.
We also speak English, French, German and a bit Spanish.
