About this sitter

I am a slow traveler, meaning I love to spend longer periods of time in one location. I regard myself a traveler rather than a tourist and love exploring life elsewhere as if I was a local. Being retired means I am time rich and cash poor. I live in paradise in New Zealand, but miss the cultures of the EU, and love living from NZsummer to EUsummer.

Why they want to house sit

I am looking for week-long or longer sits that are near swimmable natural waters or pools to keep fit. I am house hunting in Southern Italy and Galicia, Spain, during June and again from September onwards. During July/August I will visit the Netherlands to be close to faling abs friends, so sits in those areas will be great. I practice urban sketching while I travel in medieval towns and villages. Their experience

I have lots of house/pet siting experience in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand and own a property in New Zealand and recently fostered a dog for 18 months. I have looked after dogs, cats, chickens, houses, and gardens. I am non-smoker/drinker, tidy, organised, dependable, and live a simple, healthy vegetarian lifestyle. One of my backgrounds is in architecture and have therefor a greater than average understanding of how to look after a property. I have references and police checks in place. Previous references on this site got lost as I unsubscribed during the covid travel restrictions. Most of my house sits are through word of mouth.
