About this sitter

We are Phil and Annie - retired Australian teachers. We’ve done many housesits over the past fifteen years, both short and long term, in various countries and now that we’re retired we’re ready to see some more of the world. It's a brilliant way to expand one's horizons as well as meeting some wonderful people and some very special animals. We have run our own home and maintained a garden for many years so are totally capable of looking after a house. Phil has renovated a number of houses and can deal with any emergencies without drama. He likes to ‘potter’ and is willing and able to do small odd jobs for you. We both love animals and ensure that the pets of the household get so much love and attention that they do not pine for their owners, whilst respecting your routines. We have recently moved to an apartment and miss having a pet so looking after other people’s is the next best thing. We’re energetic, adaptable, reliable, flexible and can think outside the box. We’re looking forward to renewing our international travels.
We’ve been members of this site since 2008 but have to start again as our account was deleted from lack of use during covid restrictions.. We’ve been doing many housesits in Australia since 2019 and can give you the site we use so that you can read reviews from the homeowners.

Why they want to house sit

We love to meet new people and pets and enjoy seeing an area from a local perspective - so much more rewarding than visiting as a tourist.

We have extensive experience in many countries including Australia, England, Wales, Bulgaria, Italy, Singapore, Greece, Switzerland, USA, South America and Japan - across all seasons.The shortest sit has been one week and the longest five months. We take the responsibility of house-sitting seriously and understand the peace of mind necessary for you to trust your residence and your beloved pets to strangers, especially on a long term basis.

What can they bring to the assignment

All the things mentioned above! Your home and pets will be in the hands of two ethical and reliable people. We are non smokers and will respect and maintain your home to the standard you have the right to expect. We always email regular updates so that you can be assured that your property and animals are in good hands.
Once we commit to a house-sit we will not suddenly pull out just as you are preparing to leave and certainly not during the house-sit period ( barring anything happening beyond our control… eg a pandemic)
We have had four covid vaccinations.
