About this sitter
My husband and I are taking some time off from our careers to travel. We divide our time between Europe and the US, with our closest ties in Italy, California, and Hawaii. We love learning about different cultures, history, and the arts.
Why they want to house sit
We are honestly just big animal lovers. Life without animals to care for just isn't as enjoyable to us. We have our own kitties at home in California and we miss them terribly when we are in other locations. This also gives us the added perspective of being homeowners who rely on and greatly appreciate other animal lovers. We love animals of every size, shape and species, and we cherish finding opportunities to care for and enjoy other people's beloved pets. We feel that our own experiences having our kitties and home under the affectionate care of a housesitter gives us valuable insight into what it takes to be ideal housesitters.
Their experience
Our experiences caring for animals covers a lot of ground! As far as being experts, we have the most experience with cats and dogs, as we both grew up with them in our families, and have continued to dote on them all our lives. In addition to having our own pets at home, we have fostered kittens, cats and dogs that are getting ready for adoption, and for Guide dogs for the Blind, which has its US headquarters just a mile from our home California. I also have years of experience socializing, training, and leash-walking new canine intakes at our local humane society.
What can they bring to the assignment
We bring our love of animals, our dedication to their care and their happiness, and our deep respect for the homes we are invited to look after.

Wonderful people - real cat lovers
It was a wonderful experience to have Kirsten and her husband Rick looking after our 5 cats. They are real cat lovers, and it was lovely to have a chance to meet them. Our house and cats were in the best hands possible, and not for one moment during our travels (two weeks) I was worried about anything. We received nice photos of the furry ones being cuddled and petted, and my only worry was they would not change back to us! First and perfect experience with Mindmyhouse!
