Hello!
I'm Tamara, a self-employed UX and service designer, a resident of the UK but with an EU passport.
I have previously worked in travel and hospitality, both organising tailor made holidays and managing holiday rental properties.
In addition to that, I'm a very practical and resourceful person, and can easily solve and fix many unexpected problems around the house.
I don't drink, smoke or take drugs, and I'm a vegetarian.
Why they want to house sit
My reason for joining this website is because I love travel and exploring new places, while also spending time with animals.
I'm a self-employed professional, working in the tech industry, and lucky to have flexible hours and work remotely.
I'm ready to go back to loving animals and exploring new places!
Their experience
I have just joined this website but I have references from other websites (links are under References at the bottom of my profile).
I don't think there was ever an animal I didn't like and/or didn't get along with.
I can read their body language well and respect their autonomy and space. Their safety and comfort are of utmost importance to me.
Happy and relaxed animal makes me happy and relaxed in return.
I always send owners daily updates, photos and videos as a reassurance of their pet's well-being and so they don't miss them as much!
I owned cats, budgies, canaries and hamsters, and took care of Guinea pigs, bearded dragon and dogs.
I'd love to get more experience with dogs, but only either small or calm and/or well-trained dogs.
(I'm not the best with insects and arachnids though!)
What can they bring to the assignment
I'm a former property manager and Airbnb host, and I know how to keep the place in a great conditioan and safe, and am very practical and a problem-solver.
I worked as a live-in carer and child-minder for 4 years and during that time I looked after those families' homes and their pets while they were away on holiday or for work.
As a child, I spent summers in the countryside where I helped with some farm animals (usually poultry and goats) but am not afraid of large animals.

Delighted to have Tamara back
Oka was delighted to have Tamara back for two weeks to look after him. They get on so well, I even think he doesn't miss me - he receives so many pets, treats and love! Tamara also took great care of the flat while I was away. We both look forward to have her back if possible!

Tamara was fab
Tamara was fab - we had regular updates and it was obvious that she enjoyed caring for our cats. That meant that I was able to enjoy my holiday knowing that our puss cats were happy and being well looked after. It was our first time of using a sitter and it was a very positive experience. Tamara also had to deal with a random incoming fox which required clearing up after and she handled it all without complaint. She was knowledgeable and responsible and I would happily use her again.

Tamara was fantastic
Tamara was fantastic. She was very organised, had clearly done a lot of sits before and has a lot of knowledge about cats. She came to visit beforehand as one of my cats is extra nervous and she was considerate of this, giving him space when he was hiding. Tamara sent me messages/videos each day and I was very reassured that the cats were in safe hands. Tamara also very kindly bought a second hand water fountain to try because one of my cats doesn’t drink from the water bowl. Tamara left the flat clean and tidy too. I would very much recommend Tamara to sit again! She clearly loves cats and will do all she can to help them feel comfortable with a stranger being in their home.

Super conscientious

Tamara’s the one
We absolutely love having Tamara as our flat and cat sitter. She’s incredibly attentive and thoughtful, especially when it comes to our cat — it’s clear she doesn’t just look after him, she genuinely cares about his wellbeing. Every time we return, he’s relaxed, happy, and playful, which says everything about the time and attention she gives him. Tamara also takes amazing care of our home. On both occasions we’ve used her, we’ve come back to find the flat in immaculate condition — honestly, cleaner and more organised than when we left. It makes coming home from holiday feel so much easier and more welcoming. She also keeps us updated with regular photos, videos, and even a lovely end-of-stay video showing the condition she’s left everything in. During the heatwave this summer, she went above and beyond by keeping our garden plants and lawn watered — it was such a relief to come back to a green, thriving space rather than a scorched one. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her — for a happy flat and a happy cat, Tamara’s the one.

A brilliant housesitter
Tamara was a brilliant housesitter for our indoor cat for two weeks! Communication prior and during the stay was great, Tamara often would send photos and videos of our cat, keeping us updated on how well she was doing and videos of them playing. The house was spotless when we arrived back, very clean, bed stripped and floors hoovered. Would very happily invite her back to housesit again, highly recommend!

Please come back
Oka would say "please come back", that's how amazing Tamara was with him (and I would agree). From early comms to actual, it was super smooth to arrange the sit. Once here, I couldn't have asked for a better sitter for Oka - despite the strain she ensured he was only getting the amount of food (small!) requested by the vet and the amount of cuddles (high) requested by him! He actually graced her with sleeping near her head on the last night! Tamara kept the flat spotless and even sent a leaving video to ensure all was good for me. Both Oka and I would HAPPILY welcome her again!

Tamara was wonderful
Tamara was wonderful with my cat - Lola- who was totally spoilt and pampered by Tamara. She even dealt with some nasty knots Lola had due to her long fur - something I had been struggling to do. Lola clearly adored her and seemed to miss her when I got home. Tamara is well organised and is a pleasure to deal with as regards arrangements for, and communication during, the sit.

Tamara did a great job
Tamara did a great job looking after our fur-baby while we were away. She left the flat clean and made sure everything was ready for us to get home. During the sit, she had to deal with some unfortunate external pipe issues (which have since been fixed), and she was very understanding and helpful in getting everything sorted. Tamara was wonderful
Tamara was wonderful, her communication was great, I got regular updates about the cats. You can really tell that she cares for animals. She kept the flat really clean, even put the sheets on to wash. I'd definitely have Tamara back, the cats loved her.

Tamara is an exceptional sitter
Tamara is an exceptional sitter who clearly loves animals, especially cats. She was excellent at communicating with us and keeping us up to date while we were away sending us photos and videos of our two cats on a daily basis. We found this really reassuring and added to the enjoyment of our holiday. She kept the house clean and tidy and our cats were clearly happy & content when we arrived home. We cannot recommend Tamara highly enough and we will certainly be using her again when we go away.

A legend
I could not have imagined anyone better to look after our cats in a million years! Tamara is much more than a sitter: she is a legend. Our 2 cats adored her from the beginning (always a good sign!) and we had a relaxed holiday knowing that they were so happy and cared for. She even introduced new toys and games for them that we have inherited. She took wonderful care of the flat which was spotless on our return and she had great intuition for how everything worked. We and the cats will miss her!

Reliable, responsive, and really cares for cats
It was a pleasure having Tamara sit for us. The moment I contacted her, I *knew* she loved cats, and was the sitter I was looking for. She’s reliable, responsive, and really cares for cats. Unfortunately our flight home was delayed, and she arranged to stay an extra night which we really appreciated. We came home to a clean tidy house, with 2 very happy cats! I think she really spoiled them while we were away, she even gave them a pawdicure! Thanks Tam 😻
