About this sitter
I am a 51-year-old freelance photographer from Latvia and an experienced house and pet sitter. I combine a genuine love of animals with a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail and respect for other people's homes.
Over the past few years, I have completed 20 house and pet sittings and cared for 30 pets in total, across the UK, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Denmark and Latvia. Nine homeowners have specifically invited me back, which I consider the best proof of the trust I have built with previous owners.
I have lived with both cats and dogs throughout my life, and I grew up spending a lot of time around animals on a farm. I am comfortable with different personalities and routines, including puppies, older animals and more demanding situations. One of my most challenging sits involved caring for seven dogs, including three puppies, at the same time.
Why they want to house sit
For me, house sitting is much more than a way of travelling. I enjoy becoming part of a place for a while and experiencing everyday life — ideally with a furry companion curled up on my lap — rather than simply passing through as a tourist.
Most importantly, I believe pets are happiest when they can remain in their own familiar environment. My aim is to keep their routine, surroundings and sense of security as undisturbed as possible while their owners are away.

I have completed 20 house and pet sittings and have cared for 30 pets in total, including cats, dogs, a guinea pig and even a fish. My experience includes both easy and more demanding assignments — including successfully caring for seven dogs at once, three of them puppies.
I have lived with cats and dogs throughout my life, and I spent my early childhood on a farm surrounded by many different animals. Being around animals from an early age has given me a natural understanding of their different personalities, needs and routines.
What can they bring to the assignment
I am a responsible, reliable and attentive person, and I take great care of the homes I am entrusted with. I believe that looking after a house means paying attention not only to the obvious things, but also to the small details that make a home feel cared for.
I worked for 22 years in my country's border control headquarters, including international business travel. This experience taught me discipline, discretion, reliability and a strong sense of responsibility — qualities that I consider essential when looking after someone else's home and pets.
I also have extensive gardening experience and genuinely enjoy taking care of gardens, plants and outdoor spaces. I am happy to take care of regular watering and maintenance and to make sure your garden remains healthy and well cared for while you are away.
And there is a creative side to me too. I am a photographer and painter, so your pets have the chance to receive something extra during their stay with me: beautiful professional photographs. I often like to leave the owners a small collection of their pets' photographs as a personal gift.
I am a non-smoker and enjoy a quiet, tidy lifestyle. Above all, I treat every home, pet and garden with the same care and respect I would expect someone to show towards my own.

Fantastic Sitter - 2nd time :)
Silga recently returned to cat-sit our cat Muezza for a week, and just like the first time, everything was flawless. A true cat lover, great housesitter
I have no reservations about recommended Silga. She was great, went above and beyond. She is very organised, kept in touch before and during the trip and took care of my house, plants and four cats perfectly. She even had to deal with an emergency with one of the cats and did so brilliantly. That meant I could relax and enjoy my holiday knowing everything was in good hands.

Silga

Lovely and trustworthy housesitter

Nice, clean and reliable :)
For Silga this was the first sit via this website, but I decided to trust her, and everything was fine! Since the first contact, she was really nice and her enthusiasm was contagious. It was easy to get an agreement on arrival and departure dates, and we also got to spend a night together -she even cooked me dinner and it ws very interesting to get to know her. She left the house perfectly clean after her stay, and my cats looked really fine and happy. I would be glad to have her here once again, and if you are looking for someone reliable, clean, positive and caring, Silga is the right person for you!
