Retired after a 30+ yr. career in the Corporate world, now looking to house/pet-sit as a fun way to experience daily life in other areas around the globe. I enjoy exploring the outdoors, traveling, and visiting with family & friends.
Why they want to house sit
After many years of travel, I’ve learned what I enjoy most is just hanging out and exploring new neighborhoods, near and far. My greatest joy in travel is in experiencing what daily life is like for those I cross paths with. I really love animals but with a current focus on travel, now finding it best to enjoy the pets of others until I can again responsibly make this important lifetime commitment.
Their experience
After almost 10 years of very successful AirBnB stays (including ALL 20+ posted positive referrals) as a guest, now interested in finding my 1st win-win house-sitting opportunities. Over these many AirBnB stays, I found I always really enjoyed the ones that included their fur-family members. During COVID, I joyfully fostered a dog from our local rescue for a month. During this stay Midgy was potty-trained and learned to relish her public walks, leading to her successful adoption. As a long-time homeowner, I’m also prepared to keep your home well-cared for while you are enjoying time away.
What can they bring to the assignment

Wonderful dog house sitter
We reached out to Darlene due to her previous testimonials. She lived up to them and more. Communication before and during was great. We received daily photos of our dogs with comedic captions. This put our minds at rest, allowing us to relax and enjoy our vacation. We could tell our dogs were happy and well looked after. They got regular walks and due to this Brody lost 1lb in weight which we had been working on before we left. Thanks for that Darlene! Our house was well looked after and clean on our return. Great experience
Darlene was a breath of fresh air, she took excellent care of our home and our dog. Completely trustworthy in our minds and made us feel very at home with her. Our dog seemed to be well cared for while we were away. She sent us photos everyday letting us know how our dog was doing. We found our home to be in pristine condition on our return. Excellent communication. We will definitely reach out to her again and will cross our fingers that she might be available for a future visit. Lovely first time experience using this site. Trust Darlene with your home and pets
Darlene stayed in my home with my two dogs for 9 days. When she arrived, we went over information re: the house and dogs. She asked questions and we chatted. She kept the "to do" list on the kitchen table where she could refer to it. Darlene sent me photos of my pets everyday. This helped me to not miss them so much and not to worry. When I arrived home, it was clean and she had done the 3 things that I had asked of her. Later in the day, she called to do a debrief. She was honest and responsible. I would have her again.
