About this sitter

Chris (70) and Caroline (69) are both now retired. Chris worked as a social worker, family therapist and social work manager in large national childcare charities and the NHS. Caroline worked as a Gestalt Psychotherapist and has trained and practiced in garden design and horticulture. We are both very active: walkers, cyclists, skiers, gardeners and yoga enthusiasts. Chris plays saxophone in a local band. Caroline is an artist and printmaker. Caroline speaks workable French and Chris speaks some French which we improved during covid lockdowns.
We both love being in France and have undertaken many house sits and holidays there. We are pretty flexible and are looking for house sits in interesting places where we can walk and improve our French but we also look forward to meeting new people and new animals/pets.

Why they want to house sit

Prior to Covid we were members of Mind My House for several years and undertook house sits in France and the UK. We love France in particular but we love travelling and exploring new places. We continue to be excited about the possibilities of living in other cultures and countries and seeing more of the world while we can! We’d like to improve our French!

Their experience

We have undertaken quite a number of house sits. We have looked after houses and pets for 6 different sets of people in France and the UK. Some of these led to return sitting on several occasions and a couple of these couples have become friends. Although this is not compulsory! The animals we have looked after have included cats (of various ages) dogs, chickens, fish, house birds and pigs. Caroline in particular is a knowledgeable and competent gardener. Importantly we are home owners and understand how important a home is and that it is taken care of well. We both have good practical skills and given our work histories we are not phased by the unusual or the occasional crisis. We love nature and wildlife and are very active in our local environmental group.
Please note that although our current profile states we have not undertaken any house sits this is an IT blip. We have infact undertaken several sits pre-covid some of which is reflected in the testimonials that are on our profile.

What can they bring to the assignment

All of the above plus we are a good team! We are steady and extremely reliable and we are good communicators, sociable and friendly. We will treat your home with the respect that we treat our own.
