Hello! My name is Tsu-Yin, and I am an animal and nature lover who loves to travel and meet new friends (human and otherwise!). I grew up in North Carolina (east coast of the States) and studied psychology at Duke University. I was once ordained as a Buddhist nun and now have my own private practice as a clinical social worker where I teach people mindfulness meditation to help support them through life's stresses. (If I am working during my stay, I'd be doing so through telehealth, so your animals would never be far from my side for too long. Plus, I enjoy my fair share of cocooning at home even when I'm excited to be exploring a new place!)

I find that animals in their sensitivity seem to enjoy being around the calm nature of people who meditate. But also seem to enjoy my active zest for the outdoors! I've lived all over the world and most recently, on the beach in North Carolina! I come from a family of musicians and enjoy art, singing, languages, and delicious food.

I value the trust both you and your pets give me and I strive to exceed your expectations. Your home would be very well cared for and your animals given lots of love and attention. I have a great love of plants, too, so if you have indoor plant friends or outdoor gardens, you can trust they will be nurtured and tended to just as lovingly.

My hope is that you can have as worry-free of a trip and relaxed return home as possible. I am very respectful of owner's spaces and their privacy, am a non-smoker, reliable, competent, flexible, quiet, self-sufficient and clean. Past pet owners have commented that I usually leave a house in better shape than I found it!

If I am flying in to care for your home and pets, I can arrive at least a day before your sit starts and stay at a hotel at my own expense to save you any concern about flight delays.

You can also be assured that I will be the only person who will ever be in your home while you are away.

Why they want to house sit

I grew up with many creatures, everything from hermit crabs, to bunnies, to guinea pigs, and to the feline and canine variety! While I try to make a lot of friends out and about, I don't currently live with any, however, so enjoy pet sitting as a way to spend more quality time with fur friends.

Of course I also love to get around and see how other people around the world live! Clients and friends both find me to be highly responsible and trustworthy. I always try to leave people and animals alike with a feeling of attention and love.

Their experience

My hope is that my experience coupled with my caring and thoughtful nature will lend itself to a worry-free trip for you! I have raised and looked after numerous animals from dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, fish, hermit crabs, snakes & reptiles.

I enjoy long walks with dogs and reading with a cat or dog by my side.

I am very organized and comfortable with specific diets and medication needs, as well as pets of all ages-- from a couple of months old to 15+ years young.

I am a tidy and quiet non-smoker who is very friendly and respectful of other people's homes, so please rest assured that I will take very good care of yours while you are away. I know just how special your pet family is and how difficult it can be to leave them behind when you go away, so rest easy knowing you will receive regular photos and updates, and that you are leaving them in the responsible care of someone who will give them lots of love and attention.

What can they bring to the assignment

I love being able to give a homeowner peace of mind that their beloved pets and home are being respected and well-cared for, while at the same time, allowing me to enjoy the company of their pets in new and old settings. Perhaps our paths will cross soon, or somewhere down the line!
