My career experience, when leaving school I worked in an accounts office which I enjoyed but had the opportunity to work with people with special needs which actually suited my caring nature more then moved from UK to Ireland and for the past few years have been working in the community with the elderly which has been an enriching experience. Also I have been approved for fostering children which is a very stringent process of being evaluated from birth to present time! which Includes police/ garda checks , social,education and work history, evidence of approval on request.
Now it's time for an active early retirement !!
Why they want to house sit
I love to get away for short and long term breaks and to continue my care work with pets.Can see no better way of doing it then doing house sits near or far! As you will see from my excellent references supplied on request I have done care work for many years an love being able to continue this caring for people's pets and homes.

In my short time since early retirement I have cared an house sat for a delightful Shy cat in Ireland successfully as per owners attached testimonial. I am currently half way through a 7 week sit in Andulsia Spain caring for Luna an adorable terrier dog and 4 gorgeous cats one with special needs having oral medication morn an evening which is also all going very positively. Also have secured two bookings for September in UK caring for another cat and fish.
I have worked full time for many years hence did not have any pets for this reason, in my youth had dogs,cats,fish and even a little white mouse! I love to explore new areas near or far and see this as a great opportunity to also give my love and care to people's loved animals which I so enjoy. Have successfully finished 7 week sit in Spain as per attached testimonial. Currently on second sit in UK both same family happily gone an going very well as attached testimonial will reflect.
I have done a number of pet / house sits plus repeat ones as owners requested me to come back. This does not reflect in Mind My house information about myself due to technicalities in acknowledgements !!

The perfect house sit
What can I say? I couldn’t have asked for a better house sitter than Bernie. I have two whippets, one quite elderly and I was looking for someone kind and patient who would mind my pets in their own home and be willing to go with the flow of their daily routine. Bernie did just that. She is very organised and extremely reliable. She updated me daily with reassuring photos of my dogs. I came home to a clean and tidy house. I could not recommend her more highly and will definitely be using her again.

Lovely experience. Bernie is a gem.
My pets absolutely adored Bernie. I came home to a clean house, and I have not one complaint. She sent regular updates showing my dog and cat at home and also walks with my senior dog. My wife is very/extremely OCD and she was quite happy when we walked in the door to a clean apartment after a month of being away. Bernie was also accommodating when we missed our return flight and got home a day late. She is brave and adaptable to new countries, cultures, and languages. She spoke no French but was able to get whatever she needed and even spent time with my neighbor when she was ill. My neighbor doesn't know much English, but they went shopping and even went with her to her doctor's appointment. Bernie will stay on my shortlist of sitters, and I hope we can have her back. I have a feeling she will be on a lot of shortlists.

Bernie has been the perfect house sitter. She clearly loves animals and our little cat Ciccia took to her right away. The best thing is that Bernie has posted video clips of Ciccia every morning and evening and we found this very reassuring. We have found Bernie to be warm, friendly and practical. In addition to our cat Bernie has taken care of my two small aquariums and watered my indoor and outdoor plants. At the present time with have left Bernie in charge for the second house sitting and are very confident that she is doing a good job. I am also happy that Bernie seems to be enjoying the stay in our home in Colchester.

Bernie is an honest, reliable house sitter. My four cats and one dog were cared for by Bernie to a impeccable standard. My dog Luna enjoyed her daily walks and became devoted to Bernie during her eight week stay. My four cats were grateful for Bernie's company and attention to detail for all their needs and comfort. I can whole heartedly recommend Bernie who will love your fur babies as if they were her own.

Everything Purrrfect
This was my first time having someone staying in my house while I was travelling, and I was a bit concerned because I know how shy my cat is. My biggest concern was that he might go outside and not come back inside because there is someone in the house he doesn’t know, and normally when that happens, he would go hiding immediately. Bus I have gathered from the references Bernie sent me beforehand that she must be a very caring and patient person. Communication with Bernie was very easy and nice from the beginning, whether by email or in the video call. When she arrived the evening before I left, my cat was around and didn’t disappear straight away, and to my absolute surprise, he let her not only come close, but he ate some dry food out of her hand! We “practiced” letting him out and in again and giving him breakfast, and when I saw how well that went, I was really glad. While I was away, we stayed in touch and Bernie updated me without me asking for it, sending me pictures and videos. One time I totally freaked out because she sent me a video that showed her gently brushing my cat. I could not have imagined he would allow this ever. When I came back home I found a house that was, kitchen and bathroom included, spotless. My cat was so relaxed (and obviously mad at me for leaving :D) that he didn’t even bother getting up from his cushion to greet me. (We’re fine again now.) Overall, I can only say that I am very glad I have met Bernie on this website and that I can absolutely recommend her.
