Pet-loving teacher mom happy to care for your pet!

About this sitter

I have been an early childhood and elementary school teacher for 17 years and am about to switch to high school! I am originally from the US but have lived and worked in the Czech Republic for 17 years. My husband is Czech, our two cats are Czech, and we also have two US-Czech children, who love animals! In addition to fawning over our cats, I love to read, watch tv, go hiking in nature, attend trivia nights, and also collect and sometimes sew for dolls.

Why they want to house sit

I may sometimes want to come alone and sometimes with my family.

I love animals and love to help people out. I have two cats myself (and a spouse and 2 kids), so I am quite experienced and caring. I have also looked after pets for others. I have recently discovered this website and hope it will allow me (and sometimes the whole family) to travel more while cutting costs and helping out fellow pet-owners.

Their experience

I grew up in a house full of pets. My mom used to breed Scottish terriers. I love terriers - stubborn but so cute! We have had many cats from shelters but also among our cat history a seal point Siamese and a Cornish rex. We also had small parrots including a Quaker parrot, Nanday conure, Senegal parrot (I hand-fed that one, raised it from a baby) and love birds. We also had several rabbits. So, I grew up helping to care for many types of animals.

What can they bring to the assignment

I truly love spending time with pets. Your babies will be well looked after and loved, and should my family come, they are the same. They not only love animals but have read and learned a lot about different animals and know how to treat them with respect. At home now we have one wild and crazy cat and one who is still sometimes quite shy and nervous, so we know how to deal with those sensitive animals as well.
