About this sitter
I have been married for 45 years
We both love animals, and are non smokers, very reliable and adaptable. So would be willing to look after any type of pet, but my first loves are cats and dogs. We spent many years in South Africa so gardens and pools do not phase us.
Why they want to house sit
Now that we have the time. Whether its just to house sit or also look after your pets. The opportunity to combine our love of travelling with the prospect of meeting new people. Will be an adventure.

A great choice for us
We contacted Loraine and Derek after reading their listing as sitters on this site. They came all the way from London to take care of our home! We were away for a month and were very pleased to have chosen them as our sitters. We were lucky to be able to spend a couple of days together both before and after our trip, and really enjoyed getting to know them. The house and garden were very well taken care of, and we returned to a house in perfect condition. They kept in touch with us every 2-3 days, just to check in to let us know everything was going well. Like many of our previous house sitters, they volunteered at our favorite local charity in our absence. Many of our friends in our small town also enjoyed spending time with Loraine and Derek while we were gone. We would have them back for a house sit in the future, and we can definitely recommend them to anyone else as well. (We have no pets, the only reason this is not mentioned in our recommendations.)

Amazing cat care, Myrtle is very happy.
Loraine and her husband very kindly offered to look after Myrtle whilst I was away for a few days. As most pet owners know, leaving your soul companion for more than a day can cause a lot of anxiety. We met for a chat over zoom, as they were based in the South of England and I'm in Scotland. My mind was put at ease instantly. They were lovely and friendly to talk to, excellent communication and very professional. Whilst I was away, Loraine sent me a couple of messages to let me know everything was fine and had also cleaned the house impeccably. Though I didn't get to meet them in person, I feel that the communication and their reliability was so reliable, that my anxiety about leaving Myrtle subsided and I could go on and worry about other things! I highly recommend Loraine to take very good care of your pets and your home. She's everything you could wish for in a pet carer and will leave your house cleaner than when you left it!
