About this sitter
We are a mature active couple from Hamilton, New Zealand.
Since retiring from full time careers we have enjoyed our hobbies and interests in cycling, playing music and travel. We also participate in voluntary community organisations and have casual part-time employment in hospitality.
We are looking for assignments in different overseas locations to explore and meet new people during the New Zealand winter.
Why they want to house sit
We enjoy travel and have explored both our own country and overseas. House-sitting provides affordable opportunities for us to meet local people, enjoy different cultures and help owners care for their properties and pets.

What a Godsend to have Michael and Trish with us at Chateau/Manoir du Mur!!!
Michael and Trish!! This couple came to our place along with brother-in-law Neil and Trish's sister Christine. These four worked together wonderfully, caring for our property as if it were their own! Having the four of them on site working alongside us was truly a joy! These four individuals were one of the best Caretaking teams we have ever had!!! Just a few of the tasks they helped us with (everything they did was exceptional!) include: They did a wonderful job helping us paint 'The Gardener's apartment, put up wall heaters, renovate 'The Fairy Room' within the Chateau, stripping wall paper, resurfacing walls, adding a chair rail as well as literally bringing a 'sparkle' to the paint job they did in the room. This 'Dream Team' was not afraid to take on painting, flooring, and problem solving!! They loved making everything look so clean and tidy!! Trish loved planting flowers, Michael helped tremendously by making our orchards, lawns, hedges and garden look clean and tidy! Michael and Trish along with Neil and Chris were so meticulous, full of energy, and loved to laugh. Michael and Trish worked more than we ever expected or asked for, and were willing to do whatever was needed to solve problems and issues—at the same time, were extremely respectful, polite, and helpful. Having Mike and Trish, Neil and Chris with us was one of the most enjoyable times we have ever had at Le Mur! What a Godsend this couple was!!!!! What a surprise we received!! – We did not even realize Michael was a soil scientist! We needed to take some ammonia tests as the farmer that I rent to had cow waste spilling over into my fields as well as a basement of one of our buildings on the estate— We couldn’t find a local laboratory that would do the tests. Michael directed me to buy a test kit and he helped me to document the results for 10 sample sites. What a happy, fun, and hard working couple! Thanks again and again Michael and Trish for blessing us with your knowledge, kind demeanor, along with providing a night of live music in our 'Chapel!", a fun night that we will never forget!
