Retired Seniors wanting to keep busy

About this sitter

We are a retired couple since 2001 who doesn't know how to be retired, we like to stay busy. After retirement, we bought an RV and ended up doing volunteer work at a Florida Methodist Camp & Conference Center. Wife's primary job was in office, customer service, greeting guests and other duties as required. I worked in maintenance which included electrical, drywall, maintenance in all motel rooms and other duties as assigned. We both worked in housekeeping, kitchen/dining/laundry, wherever needed if we had a quick turnover of rooms. We sold our RV this past Spring but would like to find some housesitting positions during Winter in someplace warm, other areas in Spring/Summer. We are both animal lovers, have always had dogs and around families cats. We like to stay busy and will volunteer places if this doesn't work for us. We have had yearly background checks and don't mind you checking with previous employers or our church pastor. I am retired from Ford Motor, last position being as Area Manager for Paint Dept. I also consulted in different plants for Ford after retirement, including in England. We have included pictures of our home to show that we like things well maintained. We have had a pool so we know about maintenance for it. My husband loves working in the yard, does a great job trimming and maintenance of shrubs/plants.

Why they want to house sit

Just to keep busy and see other parts of the country and enjoy meeting new people. Love being around dogs & cats. We have been blessed with good health and like to stay active.

Their experience

Not with housesitting but have cared for people who needed home chores done. We have always had a dog until our last Westie passed. We did have a dog sitting business for small dogs quite often in our home a few years back. Dogs were allowed to roam and not caged unless owner requested. That helped fill the void when we lost our last pet. We both like pets and know how to keep home and yard looking well if needed. Pictures of our home and yard are posted.
