About this sitter
Hi everyone, we're Gary and Julia a British couple travelling the States and Canada this year in our UK Registered motorhome.
We do not have any pets with us and are both early retirees. Gary served 39 years in the British Army and retired as a Lt Colonel this year. Julia has worked as a media advisor for the Military and British Government and ran her own business.
Both love to walk and are great with animals. Gary in particular has had pets throughout his life and is used to dogs, cats and reptiles.
We are both very professional and clean sitters, we would respect your property and are both highly trustworthy.
We have social media accounts for our travels and you are welcome to check us out online if you like. We're on Facebook and YouTube, please search for A New Life in the Van and you will see us dressed up at a Western Town! We are fun living, have 4 grown up sons and are reliable, friendly people.
Why they want to house sit
We've been in our lovely motorhome for 4 months straight and there are a few jobs that Gary is thinking of doing, it would also be nice to wean ourselves back into household living for short periods to enjoy our time in the States in one location time to time.
Their experience
We are very experienced home owners and we have both had pets. Gary is exceptional with dogs, he really understands there needs both emotional and physical and Julia loves a cuddle, we would completely give you reassurance about your pets and are even happy to facetime or send you little videos so you know your pet is happy and cared for by gentle, kind people.
What can they bring to the assignment
Gary is very handy so can fix almost anything he turns his hand to! Julia is a great homemaker, has a serious amount of common sense and we're both patient and good humoured.

Perfect sitters!
Julia and Gary were great! They minded our house and our two cats for a week and we feel lucky to have gotten them. They were very good communicators, before and during their stay at our house. They arrived exactly when we arranged and immediately made us feel completely at ease leaving our home and cats in their care. They sent pictures of our kitties having a good time and playing. They were very self-sufficient, and seemed to have no problems while we were gone. When we got back our house was cleaner than when we left, plus Gary raked our leaves! And our cats were very happy - though I think missed their new friends Thank you so much Gary and Julia - and happy travels!
