About this sitter

Hello! I'm Danielle and I am 34, originally from Australia but I live in the UK. I am also a fiction writer and a pet sitter!

I've been caring for cats and dogs for over 12 years. I have looked after elderly cats and dogs as well as kittens (often several at once as I used to be part of a fostering programme). Please message me for a link to my Cat in a Flat sitter profile to see reviews (all 5*) from my clients.

Why they want to house sit

My dream is to pet sit and write! They are my two favourite things. At the end of 2022 I won an award for a short story, a milestone I had been working toward, and this year I want to commit to completing a novel. Housesitting both allows me the space to be on my own and concentrate on writing, while getting to hang out with new furry friends that make me laugh and warm my heart.

Their experience

I have been caring for dogs and cats for over 12 years. Most recently I have been an active cat sitter on Cat in a Flat while living in Edinburgh. I have lots of experience administering medication- for the past 6 months I've cared for my sisters senior cat Missy who is on thyroid medication as well as antidepressants. Ive also cared for senior dogs, including blind and arthritic dogs on various painkillers. I have administered both liquid and capsule medication to both dogs and cats.
In addition to caring for adult and senior pets, I have forested several litters of kittens.
I am familiar with both small and large dog breeds and in particular, sighthounds.

What can they bring to the assignment

I've lived with a vet and my sister is a vet attendant, so I am surrounded by helpful knowledge, especially when it comes to injured or unwell pets, and I learn a bit more every day!
