Francois and Trish - Sitters Available from April 2024 onwards

About this sitter

We are a semi-retired married couple from South Africa.
*Francois is a retired language professional and currently does simultaneous interpretation, English/French, mainly via Zoom.
*Trish is mom to 3 adult children, two of whom live overseas.
She does freelance English proofreading and editing.
We are both healthy and fit and enjoy walking and experiencing new geographic locations.

Why they want to house sit

We are keen to spend some time in Europe (preferably rural settings), to enjoy the culture and lifestyle. It suits us to spend time in one place, so that we can get to know a specific area and absorb its atmosphere. Countries we would enjoy visiting include France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Italy.
We are both familiar with travel in Europe and have spent time in Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland in the past.

Their experience

The only housesitting we have done has been for family, in South Africa.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are adept at looking after pets, managing domestic staff and contractors, doing shopping and other household errands when required.
Since Francois is French-speaking, he would be in a good position to converse with locals in either France or French-speaking Switzerland.
Trish is very experienced with practical housekeeping, gardening, DIY etc.
We are both have valid drivers' licences.
