About this sitter
I take my responsibilities seriously and am honest and trustworthy. I love pets that will walk, play, or sit with me. And I love to sit and read, meet people, or watch events (fun runs, cycling, paëlla soirée, or grand-daughter in photos).
Why they want to house sit
I'm retired and share my house with my daughter and grand-daughter. I enjoy travelling and watching people in their every-day lives in their communities.
Their experience
I had a great house-sitting experience in autumn 2023 with dogs & chickens. And again in 2024 with cats & ducks in France. I'm experienced in life (thanks to a long marriage, 3 children, and 6 grand-kids). We had dogs, cats, turtles, and fish over the years. Presently, we have a momma cat and her teenage son.
What can they bring to the assignment
As with children, I will focus on a pet's needs and well-being. I will ask for advice and follow directions.
I have renewed my Canadian police check and can provide personal references if needed.

From the very first phone interview, Robert was an enthusiastic communicator. Rob was willing to provide the verification he had; his Canadian security and criminal occurrence check. His questions about his "duties" were comprehensive and thoughtful. His willingness to drive a very, very long distance in order to sit for us was over and above and a real gift. His willingness to get WhatsApp for our overseas communications was appreciated as were his "check in" messages assuring us all was well with himself, the property and pets. He wrote some newsy diary entries for us during his stay to read on our return. He was a great blessing to us in that he was conscientious and we believe very trustworthy. We highly recommend him as a sitter.
