About this sitter
I am an easy-going, independent and creative person who loves nature, travel and wildlife! I also love baking, cosiness and animal company. I started housesitting as a way to extend my travels, and after ending each sit with a very happy host and several asking me back, I would like to continue and make it a lifestyle. My fee is £20 per night to care for your house and one or two pets (+£5 for each additional animal). In return you can rest assured that your pets are safe at home, getting the best care from a kind and honest person with an excellent track record. This could be especially helpful if you travel frequently and would prefer to have the same sitter whom yourself and your pets know and trust.
Why they want to house sit
I traveled all over the UK and Ireland in my campervan in 2023 and loved it, but my van is too small to live and travel in full time. Housesitting provides a regular change of scenery whilst enriching my experience of a country or area along with offering home comforts and animal company, rather than being a complete nomad! It's an honour to be trusted to live in someone's home and look after their furry family members, and feels really special to know you're helping someone have peace of mind while they're away.
Their experience
I have completed six housesits through Mind My House and looked after various breeds of dogs, big and small, as well as cats. I've also pet sitted for family and friends, and done some wwoofing which involved helping out on farms in exchange for food and accommodation. I've milked cows, fed pigs, bottle-fed lambs, man-handled sheep, mucked out horses, moved livestock as well as helping with general maintenance of the land.
I love being outdoors and in nature, but I also love cuddling up indoors with furry friends, so I'm more than happy covering all bases according to your pet's needs and preferences.
What can they bring to the assignment
I'm very trustworthy, respectful and organised. I've always been a responsible and reliable person and am happy to provide contact details for current references. I tend to easily make friends with animals as I am a calm and relaxed person, warm and loving but firm when it's needed. I love long walks, and despite traveling a lot am a bit of a home-body, so would happily keep pets company for most of the day. I'm well used to looking after cats and dogs and I really enjoy hanging out with them.

LAID BACK AND CAPABLE
Miriam looked after our house and pets for three weeks in May while we had to work away, and she did a great job. We were relieved to be able to go away, knowing that she was confident and capable. We were very busy, but she kept us informed about what was happening at home and we didn't need to worry about anything. We got back to find the house clean and tidy, the animals all well cared for and content, and even the plants in my greenhouse thriving - I hadn't honestly expected that, so it was a nice surprise. Miriam is wonderful!
I’m thrilled to share my experience with our house and dog sitter, Miriam. She did an absolutely amazing job taking care of our pets (two dogs and a cat) and our home. From the moment we met her it was clear that she was highly competent, trustworthy and reliable. Our house was spotless upon our return and our pets were happy and well cared for. Miriam had made us some tremendous food for when we got back! Miriam was easy to contact and quick to respond when we were away and she sent us regular photos. She was also very flexible with her own arrangements when we needed to alter ours slightly. I thoroughly recommend Miriam.

Great house and pet sitter
We entrusted Miriam with the care of our two dogs for two weeks, and we couldn't have made a better choice. She took the time to understand each of our dogs' unique needs, quirks, and routines, ensuring they felt comfortable and loved in our absence. Throughout our time away, Miriam provided regular updates and photos, giving us peace of mind knowing our furry family members were in good hands. She went above and beyond to not only meet but exceed our expectations, whether it was ensuring they had plenty of exercise, administering medication, or just giving them extra cuddles and attention. Returning home, it was clear that our dogs had been well cared for and were happy and healthy. The house was immaculate, and it was evident that Miriam had taken great care of both our pets and our home. We cannot recommend Miriam highly enough to anyone seeking a reliable, trustworthy, and caring individual to mind their pets and home.

Wonderful Miriam
We feel incredibly fortunate to have found such a kind and caring individual for our two dogs and home. She is an amazing, warm, talented, and artistic person; in the little time we had to get to know each other, we shared wonderful, heartfelt conversations and laughter; it felt like meeting an old friend. She has a way with animals; our dogs immediately fell in love with her! She consistently kept us updated, sending us beautiful photos of our happy doggies. Upon our return, our house looked like a hotel, so spotlessly clean and tidy. She even prepared a delicious meal and baked a cake for us! We wholeheartedly recommend her and truly hope she'll be willing to housesit for us again!

Perfect House Sitter
I found Miriam to be very capable, independent, reliable and trustworthy and great at using her initiative, all in all making her an excellent house sitter. It was the first time I had left a stranger to mind the house and my two canine babies and I was quite apprehensive but Miriam soon put my mind at ease. She kept me regularly updated and sent pictures of the dogs out on the lovely walks she brought them on. She is a calm and relaxed person who was loving towards the dogs - there was no doubt she was great with them, they were both very attached to her on my return and a little sad to see her leave. The house was spotless when I returned. Miriam had done everything I asked of her without any issues and had even attended to some extra little jobs around the house. I recommend Miriam for any house sitting or other positions. You will certainly be leaving your home and pets in safe and capable hands with her.
