Middle-aged reliable wanderers

About this sitter

We are a UK based couple looking for house or apartment sitting, medium or longer term is fine, either in France or Spain. We are both very flexible and happy to look after gardens and pets. I am a fluent Spanish speaker, and have lived in Spain previously, so I'm very comfortable with both the people and culture. My wife is a Finnish national and therefore used to living in a culture and language other than her own on a permanent basis.

Why they want to house sit

As a couple, we are inveterate travellers, and have been looking for the ideal way to combine a wish to explore, with having a longer term base. Our children have left the nest and are happily settled in university life. We consider housesitting as a way of relocating to a more beneficial climate.

Their experience

We have just signed up to mind my house, and are hoping for the best outcome possible. Naturally, nobody can gain experience without actually undertaking their first house sitting. But, we are both very excited about the possibilities which this offers and very much look forward to positive outcomes.
We don't have any references ready at the moment but are very happy to provide them on request.

What can they bring to the assignment

As a mature, middle aged couple (my wife is a former nurse, who currently works as a personal assistant to a lady and also does gardening and cleaning for people locally. I used to teach and spent many years working with the public),I should like to think that we are both pretty level headed, reliable, and conscientious.
